thank you
Apply suction, drain off fluid, give albumin, procedure over. This syringe drainage isn’t standard practice, and overall, considered nonsense.
what are you talking about? you obviously don’t know medicine

I don't want that done !!!
if you have ascitis, you sure do! it hate doing it, but I always feel better.

At what height to we do lumbar punctures normally?
Perfect video, thank you so much!
Very nice very nice
I just undergo this surgery
How was it? is it painful?
Curious if it was painful as well or if they gave you pain medicine
So what I'm taking from this is that the procedure is mostly blind with the exception of the ECG and the clotting ability of the blood.
Ultrasound can be used, but may not be available to some. A 'blind' approach is acceptable, but the ECG does give helpful feedback. Remember if there is a concern for tamponade from trauma, make sure to optimize fluids and support pre-load. This can allow extra time to prepare and perform the procedure.

I dont see ecg electrodes why?
The only lead needed is the one connected to the needle during insertion - to monitor for contact with the myocardium. Make sure this connected lead is the one selected for display on a monitor. Additional leads could be in place on the chest but may interfere with the sterile field. They were primarily omitted from filming because no actual electrical signals are produced by the task trainer used.
@@ttuhscelpasoem How does ECG record with only one electrode?
You are correct, and sorry for the abbreviated answer previously. The limb leads are required (RA, LA, LL) from the standard 3-lead EKG to provide the base point of the vector to display a precordial lead (ex. V2). A precordial lead should be setup for display on the monitor. The selected precordial lead is the only one that is needed (of v1-V6), and should get connected to the needle during insertion and be visible on the monitor for display to identify the "current of injury pattern" that would indicate contact with the myocardium.

Can I have the brand or name of the model?
The model used in the demonstration is Nasco Life/form. Others exist, including some that allow use of ultrasound.

What aspects of ventilation assistance are needed for patients with COVID-19? Is the challenge (1) maintainng exhalation pressure so that passageways don't collapse and to avoid irritation/damage to bronchioles, (2) Increase inhalation pressure in order to fill clogged bronchioles, or (3) to control when (and that) the patient will breathe?
COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) can produce pulmonary injury, and bilateral pneumonia, with severe disease appearing as acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The lung injury can prevent adequate oxygenation thus require supplemental O2 or full ventilatory support. (1) The use of Positive End Expiratory Pressure (PEEP) can help keep lower airways open - improving oxygenation. (2) High pressures can have a risk of lung injury. (3) The goal is to support oxygenation until the body is able to recover from the lung injury and supplemental respiratory support is no longer needed. -This device is not a ventilator replacement, but could help provide support if normal resources are not available.
what is used to limit pressure? What is the device between the bladder and the airway?
Clever!! :-)
Amazing and very creative design!!!
Where can this trainer setup be purchased from?
The goal with this task trainer was to allow creation by individual centers. Please see publication:(journals.lww.com/simulationinhealthcare/fulltext/2019/08000/Development_and_Review_of_the_Chest_Tube.11.aspx). Please reply if you need more details.
Thank you for watching!
Excellent
