Online Storytelling Event St. Patrick's Day 2021
To celebrate St. Patrick's Day 2021, Cavan County Museum held an online storytelling event. The event gathered audiences from around the world and great storytellers from all around the Island of Ireland to tell stories for us, including beautiful traditional music and singing.

Wow.. Excellent. I'm teaching my student about WW1 and we are writing a letter from war and this was perfect to share with them.

They never tell their mums how bad it is
They couldn't, imagine how awful they would feel
These were real men.
These were boys forced into an awful and impossible situation
They were kids, and had no idea what they were going into. Please don't attempt to glorify this hell, or the poor souls who found themselves there.
Well done lads ! Everything is well done: the atmosphere, the sound, the tone of the narrator, the facial expressions, .. I really feel immersed in the hell of Flanders.
My great-grandfather, Owen came from Ballyjamesduff in Cavan. His eldest son Charlie was killed in France in 1917. Family tragedy.
