Try cutting the point off a toothpick and use that as a guide to keep everything aligned. As you screw the set screw in it will push the piece of toothpick out the other side.
Yes you are absolutely right if you're using a shoe that has a full pin (i.e. the original Ranger Proof Shoes like the red one shown here) or set screw that goes through to the other side. The Empire Stiletto shoe pictured does not have a set screw that goes all the way through neither does any of the new Ranger Proof shoes. Thanks for the input because that is a good technique when using that type of shoe. Good stuff.
Very nice video.
Thank you very much! More to come.
is aluminum polish ok for steel?
Great video, thanks for the instruction
You're very welcome. Thx for watching.
Helpful, Thank you
Glad it was helpful! You're welcome and thanks for watching. Mote to come.
Thank you for a concise and well edited video. I’ve taken my Glocks apart to polish trigger connectors and do deep cleans, but I’ve never had to replace a firing pin spring…but I think I may have my first one. While at the range today, we experienced two light primer strikes (back to back) resulting in misfires. First time I’ve ever had a Glock not go bang, and I’ve shot a LOT. The good part is that my grandson was with me (he was actually the one firing), so he got on the spot training about how to handle a misfire, and the difference between a hang fire. Invaluable experience. Now to search for lint, weak/broken spring, broken firing pins. Since it’s a retired duty firearm and now one of my main EDC’s, lint is definitely a possibility. Even some stray oil that got tacky, but I doubt that one, as I’m really stingy with oil on my Glocks. Anyway…thanks. After watching your video, it’s now a simple job. So glad yours was the first one I clicked on. No need to search others.
This is a magnificent build man...wow! It's a disgrace that this video doesn't have more views...well done👍!
Thanks a lot and thx for watching. Yeah TH-cam deleted the build videos and gave me channel strikes but you can see them on my Rumble page (rumble.com/JettaManDesigns) Friggin commies.
@@JettaManDesigns What do you think about those empire pbf stiletto triggers? I'm thinking about getting one for my next build... either that or a serpico!
@@WillyMandingoWinchesterlove it. I was able to snag one for another build I'm working on. I'm gonna run it with the Glock Performance Trigger in a Strike Industries Strike 80 frame. Wait til you see that one.
@@JettaManDesigns I look forward to it! Don't let TH-cam and haters discourage you man... you're doing a great job! I've learned a lot just watching you! Thanks for your input on the trigger and take it easy!

Didn’t realize I missed this post! Great video! Its Bladeboy btw….
Hope all is well with you and the ol fireside gang!
Excellent video.
Thank you very much! Stay tuned. More vids dropping this month. Finally got my work space back.
Awesome tips, thanks for sharing, going to go now and tighten mine up, only unpacked and setup quickly earlier this evening! 👍
Thanks for the video, straight to the point not a lot of useless talking like other people, keep up the good work.
Thx and thx for watching. More to come soon. I finally got my work space back.
@@JettaManDesigns excellent best of luck
Thank you. I'm about to buy a workstation. Useful advice.
Glad it was helpful! How did your purchase go?
@@JettaManDesigns yes. Very good addition to the workshop. Most of my projects are small benchtop builds. A large drill press, while nice, is too big for the space I have in my shed. I'll keep watching your channel.
Excellent video. I ordered a new Factory spring to replace the one that has been on my Glock 19 for over 10,000 rounds. Started getting some light strikes so I'm going to see if a new spring will take care of the problem. Also ordered a VISM Glock tool. I'll review your video again when I ready to make the change. Thanks again. I just clicked on subscribe.
I hope your results have been stellar. Glad to be of service.
@@JettaManDesigns I changed that spring and that solved the misfire problem!

Cut your nails bro 😳
Question. How you attach the flex shaft to the dremel workstation? You just hanging it or in the mount? (I’m having issues finding how to install in the mount!) haha good video!
Lol thanks for watching. Once it's installed in the dremel I just hang it over the wire strap on the top. 🤷🏾♂️. Thx for the question.
Good video ... Thank you!!!
Thank you too and thx for watching. Stay tuned for more.
Your videos on the finer points of setting this unit up are very helpful. I especially liked the previous one showing how to get the chatter out of the tool. I mount tools like this to a board that extends out on either side of the base by about 6". (You can see the holes in the base through which to pass the screws. Or you can countersink them from underneath and use nuts above.) That way I can clamp the board rather than the tool and the clamps do not get in the way of my work. I can move it to any surface because it is not screwed to my workbench. And it makes the base wider and thus more stable. I also made a wood table to fit snugly over the base so that should I ever be off from exact center, I won't immediately drill into the metal base. Just some thoughts that might be helpful.
That sounds great. I'd love to see a pic of your setup. I'd gladly share it on a followup video. Email to Ram@jettamandesigns.com if you like. Thanks for watching and the tips. I may give it a try.
Great vid
Thx, I appreciate it. More to come.
is it possible to keep or arrest the plunger in the down position.
I don't believe so but why wouldn't you just loosen the height adjustment lever (minute 4:29) and lower it to the height desired?
I got a Glock 17 gen 5, I really want to get the apex trigger but I want to keep it as stock as I can, thank you for this video man.
Right on. You're very welcome.
@@JettaManDesigns polishing up the trigger bar though really makes the gun run smoother?
@@Cowboybounty yessir. Give it a try.
3000 grit wet sanding works really well too and is a slightly faster process than actual polishing. I usually start at 2500 grit and work my way up to 4000-5000 grit for that mirror smooth finish. Oils also works in place or water for wet sanding.
Thank you!! I could not figure out how to get the Dremel in the nest
You're welcome. I'm glad it helped. More to come, stay tuned.
Thank you for taking to time to make this video. I just purchased a Vickers trigger shoe for my G33 and your video was just what I needed to complete my project. Thanks again!

Lol thx. That's one way to do it lol. Glad to of service. More to come, stay tuned.
Made my day!!!!!
Glad to hear it. More to come this month. Stay tuned.
Hi, thanks, your video is great. Tightening all the screws and those two extra hex nuts underneath/near the depth stop which @budizen3014 in the comments recommended, has helped a lot. But, there is still lateral movement when the handle of the press is pushed all the way down. This means the drill bit moves slightly to the left. I don't know what to do! I don't know if I'm expecting too much from nylon threads (why nylon). People are saying they have no play at all so I must be missing something. But still much better than before. I've subscribed. :)
What about the m4 bit? Can't get it to fit in the dremel
Thx for watching. The collet that comes with the dremel won't accept the 4mm bits. I suggest purchasing the Dremel 631 Brad Point Bits and using the 5/32 bit (slightly smaller). The shank on the 631 bits are shaved down to fit the dremel collet. Once youve completed the holes then run your m4 bit through the hole BY HAND to get it to the correct size. Let me know if this helps.
Awesome video man. I appreciate someone actually explaining it in an understandable way lol
Glad it helped! Thx for watching. More to come soon.

I got my workstation but I have a question. The metal pipe it turns easily. Is it suppose to do that? How do you keep it from turning How can the dremel work properly if the bar keeps turning
Sorry for the delay. No it's not supposed to spin freely. At the rear of the base there should be a "Base Hex Bolt & Nut" to tighten that. I have filmed, "How to Assemble Your Dremel Workstation for First Time Quality - "The Prequel" (min 1:00 - 1:25) where i showed the full assembly but TH-cam in their infinite wisdom deleted it and gave me channel strike. Anyway, you can check it out on my Rumble channel at rumble.com/vrlrys-how-to-assemble-your-dremel-workstation-for-first-time-quality.html Let me know if you have any other questions. Thx for watching.
I’ve got a question for you and this might be my problem is the fire pin spring I’m not sure but my Glock when I rack the slide without a magazine in it 50% of the time the trigger locks in place, so I can dry fire the other 50% of the time it doesn’t do you know what that might be
How's it going James. Just a clarifying question, are you saying that when racking the slide the trigger is locking to the back and not reseting?
Ma man needs to cut the nails lol
Thankyou I now know my plunger is stuck it should have dropped out like I thought with the extractor
You're very welcome. Good luck getting it unstuck. Let me know if you need any further advice in this area.
Someone put my plunger in without the spring because it launched into the stratosphere, never to be seen again. I got a new spring but can’t get the plunger out yet.😢
@@JNeedels don't sweat it if you got to get a tiny needle-nose plier and yank it out u gotta. I had one that did not want to come out as well
@@lilrugah3433 thanks man, I learned a valuable lesson from you though. I needed to pull out the firing pin completely before attempting to get plunger out.

Thx doc and thanks for watching. More to come.
I have a question for you. If I could email you I would. I have the Brad point drill bits that MGB says to use but I can’t find the collet for my dremel to use a 4mm drill any help would be great. Thanks
Most Dremel's only go up to 3.2mm (1/8"). Even the Dremel metric set (#636) should have the 3.2mm shank. However if you are using a regular 4mm bit, the better solution is to buy a set of the standard Dremel bits (set #631 Includes bits for 1/8", 5/32", 3/16" and 1/4" with 1/8" Shank on all bit sizes) and use the 5/32 bit for the 4mm holes (search 631 Dremel drill bits on amazon $9.95). The metric set is often imported and made from inferior metal so they sometimes bend upon plunging. After using the 5/32 bit then then use supplied 4mm bit to twist in BY HAND to get a perfectly sized pin hole. I hope this helps and thx for watching.
@@JettaManDesigns Thank you for replying 🙌🏻👍🏻 yes I bought the #631 and used the 5/32. The drills I originally bought are the bit’s that MGB had a link for. I used the 3mm from that kit and the 4mm/5/32 from the other kit. Thanks again 👍🏻 Looking forward to the video you will have on repairing the holes
FYI, these are on clearance at home Depot for $10 right now. I just got the last one at my store today.
