I taught my daughter to sing this song many years ago. She is now a professional choral singer with most of the top UK groups. I like the tonal quality of your voice but there are a few technical problems which need to be resolved. Breathing and phrasing - breaths should be taken at punctuation marks and not mid-phrase. There may be a general breathing problem here - I don't mean medically but when you fill your lungs ready to sing. Some simple exercises can help to resolve this problem. This is a lilting 6/8 rhythm - the stress points should be accentuated but not marcato. I Long to Sail the Path to the Moon - 'lean' on the capitalised letters while keeping the Phrase legato ( smooth). It may help to practice singing the phrase without consonants - thinking of one long piece of string connecting the notes. Finally, be engaged! You have to love what you do. It should not be performed in the manner of someone showing how to solve a Rubik's cube. Create a picture in your mind of the wonderful images in the poetry, understand it, then portray it with your face, body language and last, but not least, your voice.
