Is October, November a good time to go?
Not for cruising. The cruising season typically ends in September or early October at the latest for some cruise lines. You can do a land tour and see them that time of year, though later in into the fall and winter will increase your chances. I recommend Fairbanks, but there are other cities (more remote) that have good visibility and weather for optimal viewing conditions.

awesome video - clear, concise, helpful. Im planning my first alaska cruise in September of this year almost solely because I want to see the lights. Yeah, I know itd be better to fly in during winter but Im afraid this is the best I can do, at least this year. Hope I get to catch a glimpse!

Hi, Im 3 days away from our cruise and its our first Alaksa cruise. Didnt knew we were stopping at canada until a few days ago. My 2 kids (US citizens)under 16 years old passport expired, with their birth certificate and Id work? Will they accept this? Im really stressing out about this trip that they wont let us in and ruin my family's vacation
As long as your kids birth certificates meet the requirements you should be fine. What cruise line are you sailing and what port of departure?
Questions : we will be doing a close loop cruise to Alaska from Seattle’s with a stop at Victoria. I am a British citizen and have an approved ESTA. Since the cruise is stopping to Victoria before coming back to seattle do I need to get the eta for Canada?
Thanks for watching. I am only aware of requirements for U.S. citizens. The cruise line can help you determine that.
So on the part you said about stopping in British Columbia we wouldn't need a passport my cruise is in August are last stop before we go back to Seattle is British Columbia we arrive at 8pm so i wouldn't need a passport

We did a b to b from Galveston on Ruby Princess and didn't have to get off the ship. Met in the wheelhouse bar and customs came aboard and checked everyone then we were free to roam the ship.
I have heard from others that was their experience in the past as well. What year was that?

Wanna see the Northern Lights? Go to Coldfoot, Alaska….it’s in the middle of nowhere but there are trips there and you’re Gauranteed to see the lights. PS. When I was there the temperature was 22 degrees below zero. Do yourself a favor. Skip the “iffy” cruise and go to Coldfoot which is located directly below the “Aurora band”
Doc, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I completely agree that the absolute best way to see the Northern Lights is going inland. My pro-tip at the end of the video suggests doing just that in Fairbanks. But Coldfoot is another great option. Happy travels in 2024!
I have seen others say they can’t see both cruises on the app. Is this true? If so how can you do everything needed to be green line for 2nd cruise?
The bookings should be tied together on the back end. A travel agent that booked the cruise or a Princess employed cruise specialist can take care of that. In this case you will see both cruises in the app and can make reservations, etc for both in the app or online in your Princess account. Technically you don't need to be green lane for the second cruise. You just need your in-transit card and you can board the ship for the second sailing with that through the green lane if you choose not to disembark with the group of in-transit passengers.
