Watched series again…. Cant wait till June!
@@rmoran113 I'm excited for you too!
Another great video, even better the second time😂….you ever use the hwy pegs? Debating on them on my 23 r1250 gsa. Only issue is I have skids over cylinder heads
@@rmoran113 I used them every now and then if I really needed to stretch my legs. What was nicer was the crash bars which were just a little bit closer and directed air onto my legs whenever I got too warm.
Can’t recall if I asked. When were yall up there?
@@rmoran113 June
@@fr8trn88when in June yall hit alcan
@rmoran113 June 3rd
@@fr8trn88 great I’m hoping to be there about same time next year
@rmoran113 I've been told if you go later it will rain less but that is all part of the fun anyway.
Final thoughts on this bike? Good valve or pass?
@@renoallstate4573 I think it is a great value for what it is! Yeah, not everything on the bike feels super premium and some parts could use some tweaking, but I think this is by far the cheapest bike you could buy new and actually tour long distances with or take off road. Overall, if you are fine with the KTM engine this is a great value for how much of an all arounder it is!
Thank you all for watching all summer, we will be back next summer with more!
Such a fun trip❤

The gen 3 klr650 is a wonderful motorcycle for both worlds. If it's to heavy for you. Then you need to lift more weights to get more strength. Or get a smaller bike. Just suck it up and get over it
@@jameswatson5831 I dont think it's too heavy, but it is a fact that it has put on weight over the years. Also undeniable that the lighter a bike is the easier it will be in technical offroad situations.

This tutorial is flawed but there is a guaranteed method to skip ads instantly that I’ve been using for years. You hit the I button next to the time of the ad, click block ad, then continue, then back arrow and the video will instantly start playing. Do it fast you can definitely do it before 5 second ads end and easily before the 10 second ones. There you go!
@@Jmasdoni Sweet, maybe I'll have to make a video on that!
Firefox + uBlock Origin + SponsorBlock. No ads, no annoying "and now a message from our sponsors", just pure content.
I always do that but the ad just plays 3 times until it gives up
lol I know exactly what your talking about. You do it like 10 times probably taking longer than the ads will take and then by the end you have worked for it no intro ads up until the mid roll ads come up

Thx so much for taking the time to put this out! Working on my route for key west to DH currently.. mid may start, planning 3 weeks up fly home from anchorage and fly back early September ride back home (Fl)….thinking alcan up and cassier back
@@rmoran113 Sounds good, would highly recommend taking both roads that go to Alaska!
@@fr8trn88forgot to ask your about carrying extra fuel….ride a gsa with the 8 gal tank. Thought I’d carry a small 1 ltr just incade
@@rmoran113 We carried a 2.5 Gallon extra gas tank, but never needed it even with the gs's 5.3 gal tank. That being said the 8 gal on the gsa is more than enough, but there were moments it was close so definitely don't run it down to empty all the time.
The south road to Garnet..... sketchy. Nice video. Couple years ago, so joker, trolling locals, put up signs in Missoula saying "Antifa training at Garnet Ghost Town...." Lot of people believed it, lot of us laughed, "city people driving up to Garnet from the south....." would have been CARnage.
@@jimburg621 I can only imagine that road was an absolute disaster, but fun and challenging.
Great series, man that is that is tough on the body for that distance in 18 days. Wow ! Little further south from Prince George you could have caught BC version of Montana's Garnet Ghost town- Barkerville. And then meet the Rockies highway again further east. Two suggestions - wind sock on the mic and ditching the chest cam for the POV shots. The windscreen took away from the shot. National Park tour - CAN and US series would be good followup.
@@register1430 Yeah, I have a mic with a wind sock but my go pro media mod failed after deadhorse and ruined all my audio so lesson learned there. Good suggestions though always looking to improve!
Reg EYE NA , like Vagina. Not Regeena. Interesting AK finish , usually it's TUK , Northwest Territory that is the name to hit. Jasper > Banff. Jasper had major fire and huge loss of buildings. Bad forest fire.Very lucky the whole town didn't go up. I'll watch the series now.
Great video and trip. What year and model is your BMW? Did you have to change tires and do a service?
@@billking8736 Thank you! It's a 2013 R1200GSW. I had moto-z tires which were supposed to make it 15k miles, but the lugs cracked and fell off on both bikes so we had to replace them. The plan was to not have to change tires though. I did a full service in dawson city since I do one every 5k miles.
Clean your windshield.. I know its to late
@@alsmith3343 Almost didn't even have the materials to clean out the radiator, and with how much it rained it would have been dirty in 5 min again. I know it's not ideal for filming, but it's the reality of how harsh the conditions are.
This was a user requested video, so if you ever want to see anything let me know!
Great video!!
I have a red/white '24 papio ss, first ever bike as well. It definitely turns heads and it's been a blast learning to ride on it.
@@dohmino It was a great little motorcycle, super fun, and everyone seemed interested in it. Its definitely one of those bikes that is fun to drive for all skill levels and could still be fun to mess around on no matter how much expierence you have.
I can definitley see why mini moto's are so much fun!

Let me know if you love the sound of a good inline-4!
This is the V-Strom 800 DE! You probably got something confused in your video editing program.
I thought this was a scam! 😅" I thought the video on the right was something else but, the shadow of the birds flying over you made it real! 😜" So why does the video on the GoPro screen appear inverted but, in reality it’s not moving?? 🤷🏼♂️ And you remember what capacity of Memory card you use in this Test?? 🤔 Please!
@@ararakoyori8078 The video appears inverted because it makes it so a person on the ground will always see the footage straight up as normal. It is basically an auto rotate similar to something a smart phone would have. Also, I am using the recommended sandisk extreme 512gb in this video.
@@fr8trn88 👌🏻 Thanks for answer fast, man!! 💯
This was a video from my backlog but I thought it was still pretty cool!

Headed up to deadhorse in may thinking alcan up and cassier back. Can’t wait!
@@rmoran113 Just be careful about snow! We wanted to wait until June since there can still be snow and crappy weather up there in may.
@@fr8trn8810/4..planned to leave key west mid May with stop in Yellowstone prior to hitting Canada. Closer to June as would like to hit beartooth pass after few days in Yellowstone before dropping wife off at Bozeman airport…any route recs appreciated
@@rmoran113 There are so many great roads around there! I've taken three motorcycle trips out there and there just seems to be no end to great roads. We did a little bit of Yellowstone and beartooth later in this trip. Probably some of my favorite riding I've ever done. I've been to Yellowstone three times now and awesome! Hard to say, but all of the popular routes are cool. Mt.Evans (now Mt. Bluesky) in Colarado is a really cool ride too if you are headed that way. However, I think all around Yellowstone and Montana is just great!
Enjoying the series. I just got back from Canada (Banff-Calgary) last week. amazing. I try to made the trip every year or so from Phoenix to get out of the heat. I noticed that you made mention of the price of fuel. I paid about $29 Canadian for 18 litres(4.7 US gallos). that works out to $22 USD. You have to multiply the Canadian prices by about 0.75 to convert to USD. A $135 Can for a hotel is same as about $100 USD. I find many things cheaper in Canada once you do the conversion. Some stuff more.
@@Mark-dd2nh Glad you are enjoying the series! Yeah, I forgot about that, but I think fuel still comes out to around $6 a gallon some times which isn't too bad, but you can tell everything is just more expensive there. A good reminder though, it is so easy to look at the numbers in Canada and be freaked out.
Dane, I stayed in that motel last year on my trip to Alaska. And I had about 3 days of rain while I was in Alaska too. Looks like you were really enjoying the bike. Clint
Tok is a good stopping point! Yeah it seems like everyone I talked to said it rained a lot! The GS is such an awesome bike!
Banff was one of my favorite places I've ever been to if you want to see more let me know!

Did you have any issues with engine temps/overheating with the radiators getting clogged with mud?
@@tailwheel65 Yes we did! If you watch day 6 + 7 on my channel you can see the muck we drove in, and us cleaning them out. My bike was overheating really bad to the point where I got a warning light so we washed and blew the radiators out in coldfoot, and then again in fairbanks. It was really bad!
