Yes God does know our potential. I can see why he would prune dead branches and living branches. Also known as parts of our life or who we think we are. Some might think that this is unbiblical due to the fact that it's a possible prosperity message. What I don't understand is why somebody would think that prosperity is a bad thing. God loves us so therefore he would want us to prosper. Everything we do is for his glory but we are going to benefit sometimes and also take a hit sometimes. I don't think that she's saying God is pruning us so that way we can see our potential. She is saying that even though we are in rough times right now, God sees us and is molding us to who he needs us to be for his good. We just so happen to be blessed in the fact we get to live this life. That is so great for him. If we happen to prosper due to our faithfulness in Jesus. Then so be it

This was my first time attending Union City Church, and it was truly a blessing! Three things really spoke to me during this message: "The character of the fruit is very telling of which branch you are connected to." Am I producing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control? Or am I bearing fruit that glorifies the world and reflects an innate sinful nature? Not all growth is good growth. We have to trust God to produce quality fruit over a large quantity of fruit. God's pruning is not a testament to punishment but to potential! All we have to do as believers is trust His sovereign plan for our lives and continue to surrender to Him daily. "Fruitfulness is a byproduct of faithfulness." As we continue to press into Christ, we will increasingly reflect His characteristics and glory-not solely for ourselves, but so the people around us can see the glory of God through us.
