Got to say this, I once had a rack with about 8 servers at my house, the end of the month my wife said, "Now listen to me, I am only going to say this once, your server rack is eating into my regular facials, hair appointments, nails, facial avocado masks and taking the girls for coffee at the new coffee shop next to van Dyck hair dressers" and I said "I have absolutely no idea what you are referring to but judging from the coldness of my marital bed last night, It must be serious", "Yes, she said the power bills is always about $374 per month and that is with the pool filters running, just in case Julie and Maggie shows up for a quick Champaign and a dip in the pool." By now I realize her confessions of lavishly flaunting MY CASH for her and her friends Pleasure are not nearly as serious as the problem she has with the server rack. "Now wait a cotton picking minute, missy", I said "What are you trying to say?". After that obligatory long stare around my eyes, not into my eyes she says, "The electricity this month was $1668 and no cents" now everybody knows about the "NO CENTS", It basically means you are being comprehensively F'ed over, it is that NO CENTS that change the meaning of the outcome if they are willing to let the 25c slip, It is NOT a good sign. So, speedy me had to retaliate, and it came out like this, "Now seeing that you are the Boss of this here home, why is that the server rack is still switched on?, and why is it still in the Lounge area were everybody can see it!" Oh man then I got it, "Listen here Smith, I am the brains around here and it is safely tucked away inside my scull, as for you, you are carrying yours in your hand, now get moving!" LOL!

The password you enter at 6:13 at the yellow login screen.... That is specific to VMWare and is not a bios specific password, is that correct ? Later, at 8:00 you enter BIOS by hitting F1 without password. If a client claims he needs his bios password reset, but is at a yellow login screen like you are at 6:13, that is a VMWare level password and cannot be reset at the hardware level. Is that correct ? thank you in advance,

r710 is painfully slow. when modifying the boot sequence in the bios I had to press the arrow keys instead of the +/- keys.

Good tutorial. Sadly, latest Java does not appear to allow the unsigned jar from an x3650 m3 no matter what I try.

Sir, I found your video to be very informative and interesting. I do not have an M4 yet (I have several 7979-AC1 models). However, the video did leave me with a few questions… I’d like to setup a virtual machine (say under VirtualBox or VMware) that has a Windows environment (or preferably a Linux environment) with the proper Java version and configuration to fully access and use the remote capabilities of an IBM x3650. With that in mind, I’d want it to (hopefully) work with the M1 as well as an M4. What version of Windows did you use? What version of Java did you use? What version and what browser did you use? What Java settings did you change to get it to work? There are issues with certain encryption and hashing algorithms being turned off I heard in later versions of Java, no? I would prefer to use Linux, but whatever environment I need that would give me full remote control capabilities (even remote mounting an ISO) is the goal (for which I’ll accept Windows if need be). If you can do a video on how to setup and create this environment from scratch that would be wonderful! In fact, I can work out for you to get access to my M1 remote management port if that helps you. Thanks in advance. Stuart

Probably a dumb question, but these server form factors pretty much work and boot up Windows like any other machine, right? I assume so since you did it, but I had to ask. I just got a Dell T7500 that I upgraded to dual X5675's that I'm planning to use as a web server, mostly for testing, but I wondered if I wanted to (or needed to) expand later if I could simply buy a server rack and run several of these units in the same way...
