Follow me on my travels through the United States of America in the footsteps of the early explorers.
Please be aware that these videos are addons to my trail description on my homepage followtheexplorers.com and sometimes need the context from my web page.
Nowadays everything is going fast, people are over saturated with exceptional things - I want to hit the brakes with my videos! There is not the "big" action but you are part of great journeys of the early explorers. Try to see the US in a slower pace - just like me when I am on the trail. See how the West was won! Be part of the trails! Take the time and drive with me through thick forests and open deserts and just enjoy mother nature! And every now and then I pass a city or cross rivers on wonderful bridges - whereas some of these bridges no longer exist and have been replaced!
I hope you enjoy these little videos as much as I do!

Just heard a section of this road collapsed, I drove through there last year in late August was planning on heading through again this August. Hope everyone is okay.
After seeing pictures of this mud slide, I doubt it will be reopened by August. But at least (what I have heard of) no one was injured!
Thanks for the video I have crossed this off the list as first camp starting 7/20 on my two month trip
I am sure this was a fantastic start for a two month trip!
My families property is below the historical marker. We have a cabin and 2 miles of river frontage that has been in my family since 1921. Beautiful country.
Wow, that is awesome! It must be great to grow up in such a beautiful country!
Beautiful country, great “to the horizon” views, thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it! The drive through the Great Divide Basin was one of my most memorable drives!
Man I miss this I-79 P.A man I ain’t cared about the today one but it is a little boring and is pissing up a storm like gotdamn!!??
Thanks for posting this revealing and fascinating adventure!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I am glad you enjoyed it!
@@FollowTheExplorers Anytime! As a composer and pianist who treasures obscure place, I would love to perform in Ekalaka someday.
That is awesome! Will keep my fingers crossed for you!
@@FollowTheExplorers Thank you!
They don't pave many road in Wyoming
Nice old footage of Hiawatha Avenue!
Thank you!
Looks to be South of " Big Sky " country-!!!🤔. Had the good fortune to spend quality time in that region🤗. Last century/wonder what it's like now-???🤔.
One of my favorite all time bicycle rides, I love it! I rode it over and over again when I was working at the Umatilla Army Depot for the government. I would easily say thousands of miles all together over the few short years living in Hermiston. I want to live in Echo...beautiful town
Yes, I also enjoyed the drive along this road! What a beautiful landscape!
I'm from Many born and raised. Haven't lived there in 20 years. Nothing has changed. Everything is the same
👍
👍
How's the wind on hwy 26? Curious cause I'm pulling a travel trailer and am terrified !!
👍👍👍
15 views and no thumbs up, tough crowd. 👍
Life is hard ;-)
Another thumbs up for the video 👍
Thanks again!
👍👍👍
👍 for the algorithms
👍👍👍
What an adventurous tour, Robert! It must have been great fun riding these hills, plains and forests. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, this was a fantastic trip! My pleasure to share this video! You are most welcome! Glad you liked it :-)
Nice farm land.
Stunning. One day we would love to see this .
You will - and you will enjoy it like I did!
My favorite kind of back country exploring 👍
Absolutely ;-)
I am from Italy, but I lived 7 years in Tucson and being an astronomer I enjoyed this route on my way to Roswell for the UFOs. The San Augustin Pass left me breathless, what a view of the Alamogordo valley!!! Thank you for posting this fantastic video!!!
Wow, thank you for sharing your story! Yes, the views from this pass are definitely breathtaking!
Love the train
Yeah, it's always exciting when these huge trains pass you or you pass them - especially when you think back of how much influence on history this "iron horse" had in the past!
We're in Canada. We love to watch when people explore places we would like to go. We recently starting following this channel. Would it be possible to have some commentary?❤
Currently all commentary is included as description to the videos - or you can also go to my channel web page (whereas the daily diaries are one day behind the videos here). Unfortunately I still must earn my living, so don't have the time to do "real" movies. But one day I want to make real documentaries out of these short videos for every trail/explorer.
Hey everyone that watches. Give this channel a thumbs up. ❤
This is awesome! Thank you so much!
Can ya make it a bit more exciting? It was nice scenery but I wish you had spent more time at the water! Thanks for sharing this!✌🐢
I am sorry to disappoint you, but this channel is not about excitement - it's about the trails of the early explorers. The excitement comes by your phantasy and imagination when you think about how these early explorers travelled through these regions ;-)
We love your videos.
Thank you so much for this wonderful feedback!
I grew up there. I used to ride my horse on that exact route. Brings back memories.
Wow, that is awesome! Thank you for sharing your story! Glad that I was able to bring back good memories!
@FollowTheExplorers You're welcome, thanks for the video. Lots of memories on that stretch of road.
Have you been as far as Minidoka along that "Road"
AFAIR I did not go up this far north. I tried to stay close to the Snake River to follow Wilson Price Hunt's Trail as close as possible...
That’s a cool road. 😊
Also a nice park for hiking along the Snake River :-)
@@FollowTheExplorers I have to make my way west one day to explore.
You will have a fantastic time! There is so much to see and explore!
the guy who plays Doc the town drunk is my dad Corry Koski so happy to find this
OMG, that is so wonderful! I am glad that I was able to bring back good memories of your dad! He played fantastic, a real great actor!
I’ve never actually been to Burley, but my family is from there. In fact, I’m probably related to half that town, the Coopers and Pulsiphers. Thanks for the video 😊
Wow, that is awesome! Thank you for sharing your story!
Did some hiking with my dogs in some of the parks along the river in that area last fall. Interesting place, never heard of it before - just stopped there because it was on our way home to WA.
For me, the Snake River is one of the most beautiful rivers to follow! There are so many places, where you just want to sit down and enjoy the beauty of nature! Glad that you found that nice spot!
Where’s snake river idaho?😊
If that is a police cruiser, they can park WHEREVER they want. What if they have to go all of sudden. Do you think they are going to go out looking for their parking spot? Time is of the essence
I drive down this road like every day
Ah Boze Angeles. No longer a Montana city.
Terrifying!!! All of the alien invaders look like clouds! Who have you shown this to?!?!?😱
Very pretty town! I live in Des Moines, and I don't think I've ever been there.❤
If time permits take the backroads on your next road trip - you will be rewarded with many cute little towns!
@FollowTheExplorers love to follow the " blue highways"... hate interstates..was an otr trucker!
I want to see the Old Coach light roller skating rink is on Penn ridge is it still there? Also grandpa pedgeons used to be on the rock Rd is Grandpa's still there I haven't been on the rock Rd since 2005 at least?
Thank you for the video post! This brings back a lot of memories as I grew up as a child in New Lenox. Me and my brothers would hike along the still (barely) active Michigan Central rail line to what we called the "Third Trestle" and see the beginnings of Interstate 80. Over the next few years it took shape and then the large bridges over Hickory Creek went up . One afternoon we were coming back from Joliet on State Hwy 30 and my mother went up the westbound on ramp for the almost finished freeway and the worker stopped her. He had a big smile on his face and said "Ma'am, if you can wait a moment we'll have it open." In just a bit we drove all the way to Joliet and back on an incredible new roadway of the future. The bridges over the Des Plaines River, all bright silver, gave a good open view of the area. The new freeway was smooth and so convenient for accessing the different areas. From a trucker's perspective the time and hassle saved must be huge. This was fifty plus years ago. Thanks for the great memories, have a happy, healthy new year and Godspeed!
Oh wow, thank you so much for sharing this inside story! The first time I drove over this bridge was in 2001 - hard to imagine a time without this bridge!
That's Illinois.......a tropical rain forest.....except when it's an arctic blizzard.
I lived more than 40 years in that area and have been over that bridge 1,000 times. All I can say is God bless you for doing that in the rain, especially today. Nothing but Savages driving there.
My old stomping grounds. Drove that stretch in all sorts of bad weather
I am sure that was challenging sometimes! Glad you made it always home safely!
Memories of going to visit my grandparents in southern North Dakota.
Glad that I was able to bring back good memories!
@@FollowTheExplorershi my family lives near mobridge 20 minute drive if you take the shortcut it's really fun in mobridge the view the River the casino just anything I heard there was a water park
Wow, that is awesome! Thanks for sharing! Yes, this area has some really nice views!
Wow, these videos are nice! I found your channel like on December 5 with the "Interstate 80, Highway 33 to 22, Pennsylvania" (youtube recommended me this, since I like USA, although I'm from Europe just like you, living currently in Hungary) Definitely world was way different 15-25 years ago... I checked out a bit your webpage too, to get some information how's this entire thing started. Probably I suggest doing some similar video trailer which explains the same stuff, but it's just me :D
Thank you so much for your wonderful kind words! Yes, the world was definitely different when all this started in 1999! Maybe when I have all my trails up to 2016 online, I will do a different kind of trailer - whereas it will be always the project and not me in front. You might have seen, that I am not really often to see in videos or pictures, only every now and then - which is by intention, I am not the selfie guy ;-) But what I plan to do one day is doing a "real" video of every trail which explains the historical background like a documentary. Anyways, for now I still have to earn my living and cannot put in this much time as I would want to ;-)
@@FollowTheExplorers Well, good luck to that! :) Yes, this is not an easy job to do.
Thank you :-)
Is this by fort Scott?
