Typically when a lipo becomes unbalanced it fails to perform due to cells failing (internal resistance changes, typically higher). The servo geeking out due to that makes me question how the ESC performs its battery elimination function. Or maybe perhaps a brownout caused the servo to actuate weirdly? Needless to say, that's a crazy case and perhaps it's a calibration error with the servo endpoints? Perhaps the servo lost calibration? Needless to say, I will still be buying a 4x4 brushless vorteks. Great platform and plenty of room for large-capacity batteries. Thank you for the video!

You said 27 spur and 29 pinion...i think that's the problem of heating, because your spur should be bigger. Try 27 spur and 22 pinion. Or try a another motor (i don't know what motor this is?)

Good idea with the drag brake on the aux wire! But you need to keep in mind when pulling high amp you battery connection can fail. You use ec5 5mm connections, not so big but ok. But you batterys have 4mm plugs amd thats a bit small and can get to warm and fail.

Biggest obstacle for me was having a transmitter capable of doing it. Flysky gt5 has all the 4ws settings making for a factory feeling 4ws rc crawler.

RE: rustler. if you read the user manual it says to NOT run it on 3s without the optional motor and ESC fans or you will cook them, it runs on 2s without fans, 3s MUST have fans.

I know the feeling.. almost 12yrs ago when I started with this hobby I spend all my vacation money on my first Rc car (Traxxas E-Maxx 6s) with all the upgrades from that time. I plugged the batteries in nd drove off on a big field! Apparently their was a big rock sticking out of the ground what I couldnt see from my point of view nd rammed straight into it. My 6s lipo burned in my car nd the whole car was in flames nd was totaly destroyed. I felt so bad because I didnt have allot of money.. I felt so bad I called in sick the day as after 🤣 Well 12yrs later I have 2kids + a bunch of Rc cars (Typhon 6s, Limitless 8s, Bandit VXL, Arrma Vendetta 3s, Infraction 3s, Traxxas Mercedes 6x6 nd much more) I coulndt imagine back in the days where I am today in my life 🤣 I remember that my son crashed his first Rc car withing 10minutes nd I saw the panic in his eyes. When it happend I told him immediately: Dont worry, I will buy parts nd i will fix it before the end of the week.. nd he looked at me nd said sorry like 10times. Told him, this is part of the hobby nd we will fix it together so you can learn it.

I’m running that system with a 22 t pinion and she’s a beast also recommend changing all 3 diff fluids she’s a monster and very stable

You should probably get a gyro it saves you money and helps with controlling the vehicle at those high speeds . Also warming up the tyres first helps alot ....

I just bought a new arrma infraction, my first real rc ever. Drove it 4 minutes and the wheel fell off, not the nut holding the wheel, the hub behind it. Arrma sucks

It's odd u had so many problems out of your xmaxx, I drive mine alot and never had any problems like tires or esc, mine is box stock and only broke a bumper mount that's it. Lots of bad landings but no problems at all. Like u said tho it's what you like is all that matters but for me Traxxas has always been good cars. Maybe I'm just lucky, but either way we all should indeed have fun together regardless of rc make!

What a waste of time and money just to get it to roll and crash every time I guess if you got money like that to burn 👍

What gearing was that on? Was it stock diff?

Well your traxxas batteries are 25c rating the discharge rating that is super low. You need to run at least 80c rated batteries in your car its discharging the batteries super fast. The battery is not rated for that car. Plus it's you voltage light. Your batteries are for 3s rated race car. Look up a video on lipo discharge rating. There is more to this Hobby then slapping batteries in the car and rolling.

the 1520 look so small XD the 1717-1650kv fit also i have it in my infraction with a 20 teeth pinion for bashing and drifting, it is way to fast on 8s. i have a fan for the motor, and now my tires are hotter than my motor.

Hearing you say that hobby wing is going to send you another esc just determined the fact that I will buy my next rig with them. That’s awesome!

The rocket fans 40mm x 10mm blow INSANE on 6.v off my bec. I’ve got two in parallel and you would NEVER think their parallel on just 6.v, they hold 8v and don’t consume but .32amps. If it’s good enough for my 1717 it’ll def rip on the esc. I posted a link in one of my vids where amazon is doing a 2pc sale.

I thought I wash going fast until I got a gps and revealed I was only doing half of what I thought then it got me into actual real speed running in effort to reach what I thought I was doing lol. Then things got real… I had to take my rc from being a toy to being a machine. The rougher the road the softer the suspension, moving my Lipo to the back, the sky rc scale didn’t do JACK infact it was so inaccurate that it made me undo all the countless hours of setting up I did on the whole suspension geometry and alignment I did with manual techniques. But yea, once you cross that line…. Your in it lol.

Yooo…Hey… you ever run the xlx2 with a radiolink remote? I’ve got that combo and when I let off throttle, the truck won’t just coast in neutral unless I let the trigger go immediately.. if I let off throttle slow, the motor wants to copy the trigger and it jerks the truck harshly bcs it’s purposely slowing down instead of coast.. I just uploaded the video on it, idk man, I went through EVERYTHING…… it’s NOT the castle link setup at all as far as I know.. I think it might be the remote bcs it’s got so many settings but, dang I went through allllll of that to man idk. I need to hear it from someone who’s got the xlx2 and the same 6 channel radiolink transmitter.. thanks, watch the vid if you can I need help bcs It’s annoying🤷‍♂️😎

use a better steering servo with more force and more speed, i have changed my servo and its way better, and i only drift on 4s with a stock infraction
