Formless Mother Explained - Elden Ring Lore
In this video I explain how the Formless Mother is the shadow of the Golden Order, the shadow on the wall of Plato's Cave, the opposite of a Platonic Form.

In this video I will be pointing out what I believe to be Plato's ideas which are found directly found withing Elden Ring. From the how the Two Fingers and Elden Ring directly link to the Platonic Forms to how this impact characters like Marika, Radagon, Goldmask, and Coryhn. Plato's The Republic Plato's Cratylus Platonic Forms
'Cheers' from U.S.A. this video is fantastic. Hope it gets more attention.
Also you have a great venacular and voice😮
I think Radagon and Marika are siblings or half-siblings from political marriages stemming from the order Marika overthrew. Idk, I believe, for Plato divine madness is the "truest" way to reach enlightenment. Beholding physical beauty. I think getting into myth of metals and political organization of the city-state is part of Plato being a lair. That the hidden knowledge of the Academy was passed through oral traditions. Still, good video. I have a paper of Plato's Allegory of the Cave and Elden Ring. Glad someone else sees Plato in Elden Ring.
I might recommend maybe a soft non intrusive music behind your voice so it adds to the video. Your audio quality is great though. Highly understandable.
Thank you for the feedback and compliment. I’m still trying to figure out what style of videos I want to do, I’ll probably follow your recommendation and add some music. 👍
@@Titan_Ult Try not to use loud music, just something easy in the background. Your microphone is great, very crisp audio on your voice.
@@minespatch Any recommendations? Should I just use something from the game itself?
@@Titan_Ult Yeah, there's a ton of ambient music in that game. I also like the music from Zeus Master of Olympus in terms of calm gentle music.
These are great! If I could make a suggestion, make a video on the 3 metals, gold/blue/red and connect it to elden ring color theory. Hawkshaw's video is the only other one on the subject, and you're on the right wavelength to expand upon it. Cheers!
Your channel is seriously underrated. Love your work, please keep it up.
@@imdefinitelynotjesus Thank you for the kind words! I do plan to keep it up, just gotta grow the channel so I have more time to read and edit.
This seems too “high level” for me to digest.
Plato’s The Republic is about a big conversation where a teacher named Socrates talks to his friends about what it means to be good and what makes a fair or just society. First, Socrates asks, “What is justice?” They talk about how people should act in a way that’s fair and good, both for themselves and for others. He then imagines a perfect city to help explain his ideas. In this city, everyone has a special job they are really good at. Some people are leaders, some protect the city, and others work to make things like food and clothes. If everyone does their job well and helps each other, the city will be happy and fair. Socrates says that leaders should be wise and smart, like philosophers who love learning and truth. He compares people who learn to prisoners in a dark cave. Most people just see shadows on the wall and think they’re real, but the wise person escapes the cave and sees the world outside in the light, understanding what’s really true. He also explains how people have three parts inside them: one part wants to learn(Reason), one part wants to be brave(Spirit), and one part wants things like food and toys(Desire). The best person, he says, is the one who keeps all three parts in balance, with the learning(Reason) part in charge. In the end, Plato’s The Republic is about living a good life by being smart, brave, and fair, and about making a society where everyone works together and helps each other. The soul of the Ruler matches the city. This is what I explain at the beginning of the video. In this video I tried to explain what kind of society the Golden Order is and how Plato’s ideas can help us better understand the story.
Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay. (By Robert Frost)
Amazing video, for some reason it never occurred to me that Ranni could be a cuckoo child. Renalla never actually birthed her, Radagon/Marika did and left her there to be raised, it just makes so much sense 🤯
A new chef is in the kitchen and he is COOKIN
@@gagemcmahon9485 Thank you so much! New video soon.
Someone needs to tell @JackisaMimic about your videos. I think you guys are touching on something the wider lore community needs to be aware of.
