how ww2 was different my dad was on the uss yorktown which was sunk at midway, he was then transfered to the uss waller a destroyer how i know this now my dad never talked about the war to me, that much but he told his dad my grandpa they sunk a jap transport which had a lot of japs on board grandpa said that they the crew shot em with rifles, pistols, and the only comment was grandpa said he bet carl tried his rifle out on em but todays world that wouldn't be acceptable bet those marines on those islands didn't take a lot of prisoner either they just shot em
As powerful and chilling as that information is, it leaves me wondering how anyone can possibly claim they were winning that war. You had people in charge dying in less than 20 minutes of their first combat? What did they have, molds? They just pumping out xerox copies or something? I mean jesus H. 16 fucking minutes. And that was an AVERAGE, so they knew it from experience?

My uncle Norman was drafted in the Air Force during Vietnam. He died December 25th, 2016. He was one of the bravest men I have ever known. I miss you every day Uncle Norman. I have not been succesful with communicating here. I explain- Vietnam war was a stage to extend life on the planet. But people here give the excuse "we did not take care of the veterans, because we believe on peace".. And I say "I just explained to you, that you and your family would not be alive and on the planet to this day, had we not extended life on the planet back in Vietnam.. Your excuses to be ungreatful- they dont go far. I have truly never seen anything like living on this planet. So many of you, you think you know it all.

Dude, I had the same reaction watching Platoon with my dad and older brother. Never saw him cry before, nor after that. He was drafted at 19. Never met a tougher man. Taught us kids to not be whiners or pussies. You ain't bleeding or nothing's broke, you ain't hurt - get back out there. Didn't matter which sport or a neighborhood dust-up - get back out there. I never served; my friends and I were worried about a Gulf War draft. I was on the university golf team. Sometimes I do feel like a pussy. Like I didn't serve my country. At 51 and 32 years later, I do still feel a sense of shame... I hope my dad would be proud of me and the life I never risked... 😥

I shared this already.. Thank god for friends and family. Imagine gods son, soul snatched by the dragon, pulled into the tank. The great destroyer about to hit earth. No way for his family to know that he was in the tank... Imagine how he felt- and then poof, like magic, pulled up to Sully for his daily 3-hour exclusive commitment. Heaven's king took presidency as the red grimore holding tank was under gods jurisdiction.. Few people knew that.. Gods son did not know that.. He was pulled up to Sully and able to notify him that he was stuck in the tank.. We immediately turned it back- we had to empty the entire tank to create hell.. Gods son was not in it this time, satan did not go for him again..

My uncle was a radio operator. He survived the Battle of Khe Sanh.
To be fair... wouldn't the correct question be "Second Lieutenants *who died in action* + Vietnam 1968 + Hot Landing Zone"? Because some Second Lieutenants certainly survived, still live today and therefore would fuck up the calculated average of 16 minutes. It's still a depressing statistic, but me being a fascist and all I really like my order.
Those surviving Second Lieutenants must have been REALLY good at not p!$$ing of the troops under their command. Because, rumor has it, those Second Lieutenants didn't die in action. They died due to friendly fire because, the orders of someone who hadn't seen a day of combat before showing up, were very likely to get every soldier under their command killed. Got told a story once that a Second Lieutenant dropped into an active combat zone, and his first order was to tell the soldiers to field strip their weapons. In an active combat zone. Those officers tended to get shot by their own troops.
Funny how they treat a Vietnam example with such respect. Back then They spat on the returning Soldiers. Refused to let them in the VFW Legion

I'm not even a marine and I feel like the character of the prosecutor was a disgrace, taking cheap shots, having no respect or regard that fellow marines are dead and doesn't consider that a good enough reason to take action, and that when he lost the case he still wants to find another way to prosecute the man for something that happened when he was still in diapers. Did they disclose in the movie whether or not he ever served in combat? Because I wouldn't be surprised if he never had, would just be the cherry on top the POS sundae.
Well in all honesty, he did say "I'm not a hired gun" and that he wouldn't seek the death penalty, he was really just doing his job, as the law required him to do. Granted he did constantly repeat himself, trying to reiterate over and over there were no weapons in the crowd to try to sway the members and witnesses.
This movie exists for the sole pupose of discrediting everything you see and hear in A Few Good Men
