Hand Wraps - For a Professional MMA Bout
Hand Wraps for a Professional bout is a comparison video from our previous video about wrapping your hands for training vs a competitive bout.
The first thing you will notice is the use of bandages / gauze with zinc oxide tape as opposed to the cotton/nylon wrap with Velcro fastening.
MMA wraps differ slightly from boxing/kickboxing and again from Muay Thai wraps due to the size of the gloves and how much you can build the Knuckles up.
As with most things in life there are lots of ways of doing the same job and this is one example.
I'd be interested to know your methods and means in the comments below and the reasons why you wrap your hands this way.
As always thanks for watching, more content coming at you soon 👍😁🥊

    My order just arrived, of course you can't try it on anywhere, just order the bgvl 3, I think it's too small for me, it's not a size for a European person... It's like hitting with my fingers instead of my thumbs, will this make the skin expand? I'm normal height, even in size.

      Twins is more so for Muay Thai. The RDX gloves on the far right are also Muay Thai gloves. You can tell because the thumb is more "out" and its more rounded

    🤔Just to "split (horse)hairs" RDX at 1:02 and the gloves at 8:10 are designed for kickboxing/Mauy Thai. Differences are noted with the padded strip running midglove down the "pinky-side" for parrying; the shorter rounded cuff and hinge with less padding; (allow wrist flexion for thai-clinch). More padding weighted on the back on the hand to defend kicks. Boxing gloves are have more uniform padding that tapers slightly and flat down the wrist.. Of course, they're all hand pads... throw 'em as you please!!!🥊

    Hi, Love the channel I’ve been using the 16oz RDX F7 Egos since I started and they are OK. I think maybe because they are more of a kickboxing glove they have limited knuckle padding compared to other gloves and also I have too much room between the glove knuckle and my knuckles - hence why I’m getting sore from the heavy bag. These 16oz gloves also offer less padding than my cheap 14oz scorpions. I was wondering if youcould recommend any good, durable gloves for under £100 that are a versitile training glove - i.e. can be used on bag & for a bit of sparring. Ideally good knuckle protection, as this is fundamentally the reason for me changing gloves. ATM I work on a heavy bag and double end bag, with a bit of sparring every now and then. Im planning to join a boxing gym when Corona is over, so I’d like to get a new pair that I will be able to use for a bit of everything. I think 16oz as then I can spar, and they protect my hands more - as well as building my strength and speed for when I move to lighter gloves. Looking for an out and out boxing glove - mainly padwork

    • @hammaad3752
      @hammaad3752 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The twins gloves are under £100, you’ll be able to use them for all work around the boxing gym, I.e bag work, padding and mitt work. Also they’ll last you a while , since you already started boxing and have decided to take the sport a little more seriously.

    • @martialartsinsider3180
      @martialartsinsider3180 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes haammad's comment is perfect. If u have a £100 budget you can get a 10oz pair and 16oz pair of these gloves mentioned for sparring after the lockdown. Hope this helps and thanks for your question! 🥊🥊

    👏A very thorough analysis👍 . But what are your reccomendations if one just wants boxing gloves for say home fitness .. like doing Boom Boxing .. Non-contact non-sparing ... Do gloves play a role in effecting the workout or is it merely a frill in doing the workout to look the part ?? What are your reccomendations ??

    • @martialartsinsider3180
      @martialartsinsider3180 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say the same as the video. If u buy cheap u may have to buy multiple times. Buy a good pair and they will last ! Although if budget is an issue of course any boxing gloves are better than none! Look after your hands 😉🥊

    • @anthonysullivan7871
      @anthonysullivan7871 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm 170 and the rule at lots of gyms is going with 16oz for sparring

    • @danmclean7375
      @danmclean7375 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you like your partner, use a 16oz. But, if you guys like it a bit live and spicey, use a 14oz?

    • @martialartsinsider3180
      @martialartsinsider3180 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We always use 16oz standard 👍🥊

    • @aryanpugilist
      @aryanpugilist 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      14 is fine really, especially if they are Winning gloves, but generally sparring is still about protecting yourself and your partner, so if you wear 14oz or even 12oz in sparring, wear headguards, mouthguards and even crotch guards if you like, but obviously 16oz give the best protection, so they are just perfect. It depends what you want them for thought. If you want them for bag/pad work also, then you might prefer 14oz, since they will be lighter for you. Some people buy three seperate pairs of gloves for different things, so different weights.

    I’m starting a boxing club and Wondering should I get Velcro Or Lace?

    • @davidhauser3261
      @davidhauser3261 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends. I only ever use lace up when I have my pro fights, or occasionally when sparring with my winning gloves. But when I am doing bagwork, padwork, and most sparring occasions I would use velcro. I would go for velcro

    • @martialartsinsider3180
      @martialartsinsider3180 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      All of the boxing gloves are suitable for traditional boxing. Dont be fooled by the brand or where they are made. Certain makes are more popular with boxing Ie. Everlast, Lonsdale, reyes etc But all are good for boxing.

    • @danmclean7375
      @danmclean7375 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually RDX 1:02 and gloves at 8:10 are specifically kickboxing/Thai gloves.. shorter/rounded style of seams on the cuff-hinge to allow clinches and collar-tie, and padding distribution is different for parrying kicks.. you could probably box in any of 'em, but KICKBOX with the right gloves or you'll hurt your hands.

      Like all brands do, they have different price ranges of gloves...... Everlast have FANTASTIC gloves but the ones u get from sports direct for example are from the lower end. I'd say not worth it but.....if money is an issue, Any gloves is better than no gloves 🥊

I just got a pair of 14oz Twins that I love, but a hard breakin period.. and got and old 16oz Hyabusa's that are infallible.. pricier but gave lasted the test of time.
