What a journey from start to finish! I never thought I would be here to finally share this completion with you guys but here we are Bloodbath my dream level since I first started playing the game in 2018 Is finally done!
I have a lot to say about this level but I'll first start with my experience. I started playing this level around June to July of 2024 I beat Azurite as my 4th extreme demon, I eventually made a poll on my discord server for people to vote what demon should be my next hardest. Bloodbath was one of the options right beside ILoveCyan, mostly everyone voted for Bloodbath so It was official that Bloodbath was going to be my next hardest after Cataclysm.
I was aware this was a pretty big jump for me at the time but I still wanted to give this level a shoot since I've always wanted to beat this when I was 16 at the time. Once I started grinding I already noticed that I was making slow progress on this level, I also realized how much harder this level was then Cataclysm. I got 46% In about a couple of weeks into grinding, then I got 58% (which I didn't manage to record) In about a month. Eventually I couldn't get anywhere and I was starting to get frustrated because my goal at the time was to get 70% which didn't happen sooner then I wanted it to.
Although, after I took a short break from the level I finally got 74%. My motivation was high again afterwards but eventually I would be stuck once again not gaining new progress until a couple weeks after I got 76%. Pretty stupid death but I knew It was something and I was one step closer to beating this. I eventually did a massive fluke from 76% to 92%. This death was shocking to me, I was so beyond nervous that honestly I didn't even care that I died there I knew around 90% I was gonna die. And to make it worse I also did a 1 death noclip run from 0...
I was so close to beating this and my motivation was slipping by the minute. I thought to myself several time (Is this really my limit?) Then on December 26th 2024 I beat Bloodbath right after Christmas and before New Years. This achievement alone makes me proud as a player and after probable the hardest year of dealing with stuff irl. I still managed to do it and that makes me very proud of myself :) Thank you guys for the support and to my friends and family I appreciate you for making me push through this level!
As for the level itself this level is probably the most unbalanced level I've ever played in GD as a whole. Some parts like Michi and Crack are extremely difficult while other sections in the level aren't that bad. In terms of enjoyment this was the most stressful level I've ever played. I so glad I don't have to beat this again because the gameplay in this level Isn't fun to play from 0. Because you're just consistently dying to stupid stuff like I did -_- However, from runs It's not so bad and actually pretty fun to pull off. Out of the Trilogy this is easily the best one compared to Aftermath and Cataclysm but that isn't saying much...Still I'm glad this is over and to think I would beat this past me would be proud :)
