(POV) Testing Honda Sensing Technology in heavy rain - 2022 Honda Civic SI
Testing Honda Sensing Technology in heavy rain. The systems that are being used and tested are as follows:
- Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low speed follow
The system works fine during perfect weather but within heavy rain there are limitations as shown in the video. Some says this system is definitely an upgrade over the previous generation of Honda Sensing technology.
Read more about the systems here from Honda:

Utilizing Honda Sensing Technology on the highway in heavy/medium rain. Comments: - Lane Keep Assist is super helpful but does have its limitations. Where lines are less visible (e.g highway exits), Lane Keep Assist will give out but if the road were to be perfect with little to no curves, this system works wonderfully. - Adaptive Cruise Control is quite conservative with the following distance...

2022 Honda Civic SI Highway in Traffic Driving - POV No Commentary
มุมมอง 2.9K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Driving my 2022 Honda Civic SI on the Highway in a bit of a rain. Comments - Downshifts were needed here and there to do some passing to avoid lugging the engine but just one or two downshifts were needed as it is now a turbocharged engine. The restraints of the 1.5L before boost is still there - Road noise was quite a bit but for sure the most refined one out of all civics - Comfortability: Qu...

Maybe it stops working to keep you from hydroplaning with the cruise on?
Perhaps yeah. On Hondas website I believe I saw that you’re not supposed to use it in heavy weather so thats probably the case. It’s still very good though for a little bit haha
is that in kilometer?
yes
Yes it is!
bought mine christmas eve!! same color!
Congrats! I still rmb the pick up day of mine 🙏🏼
are you sure this isnt a 2025 si?
It’s 2022 for sure! Canadians get a few things Americans don’t in the 2022-2024 si
@ i just realized that, i have the 2025 and i was confused when you said it was a 2022
We sure got lucky with this one haha. I would see why you got the 2025!
got 2025 looks the same
You do get the newer front bumper!
I have two pointers for ya, I drive a 2017 si. First is to slow down how quick you shift your gear lever, trust me there’s no need to bang it into gear. Yes when down shifting it needs to be a little faster but trust me slamming it will wear down the synchros. It should just glide into gear, it shouldn’t feel like you are fighting it. Second is to avoid resting your hand on the gear lever, I know it’s really tempting but that puts unnecessary strain on the shifter. Other than that I think you are spot on with everything!
I appreciate the comment and the pointers! I didn’t even notice how hard I’m shifting 🤣
@ Of course! I know the car is probably your baby lol so I am just looking out for ya. My synchros feel horrible from years of slamming the shifter haha
BC? Looks like patullo bridge?
Yessir
Hey, do you truly work as an accountant?
I am indeed 🙏🏼
@ How do you like it? I am trying to get into that kind of field and drive a 2015 Si
@@Deebo_K24 I like it! If you are okay with numbers and like "solving puzzles". It is a lot of hard work though. I noticed from your name, knew you would drive a 9th gen haha. Actually debated of a 9th gen before buying the 11th
@@TD_SI21Any problems with the 11th gen?
Too early to tell but so far it has been! Loving it so far but sometimes I do wish it revved abit higher
@theAccountant drives Actually for a beginner it is easy to do it this way: 1.Gas OFF 2.Clutch in 3.Downshift 4.Throttle Blip 5.Clutch out Your method to blip before downshift for ones with a little bit more experience. Peace
Do you have any acceleration video from 0 to 100kph? How fast is it? Is it under 7 secs?
It’s a little bit over 7 sec. You’d be surprised to know the 2025 Civic Sport Touring Hybrid will have better numbers than this 🤣. But how it handles and the driving experience makes up for all of it! Best practical sports car of the year for the money.
So cool the Canadian model gets shift lights, wish the US did as well
Thanks for the video. This is a car I plan to buy in a few years after I graduate college and save some money. I like watching pov drives of these cars so I can get an idea about the car before I eventually get one. I've been driving a manual since i was 16, I learned on a 1992 Honda Accord my parents bought and fell in love with driving manual. After that, I bought another 92 accord for myself, sold that for a 2003 civic si, and just recently sold it for a 1999 CRV with a manual. Something about Honda manual transmissions... They are so smooth, so evident which gear you're in. Whenever I drive another make I notice how sloppy the shifters can be. Anyway, nice video. Pretty bold to post a video of you driving manual and giving advice. Seems to always bring the fuds out who will ciritque your hand placement on the shifter and tell you you're not a real manual driver if your car has syncros or some stupid bs like that lol
Honda do get their manual right, the shift feel in mine currently is so crisp you’re not gonna regret your purchase decision. It does bring out the hot heads but does bring out people like you as well!
What does “slip into _____” mean? I don’t understand what physical action the driver is supposed to take?
Just basically releasing/partially engaging the clutch into your desired gear!
The rev hang dosent bother you when shifting?
It sure does… didn’t bother me at first but a couple months in it starts to get really noticeable. Especially 1st to 2nd and even worse when it’s cold. Still a very good shifting experience other than that!
Nobody overstates driving a manual transmission like Gen-Z... Everybody and their mama used to drive manual.
Got a couple things to say. Thanks for your comment! 1) Nobody hates as much as the boomers do.. 2) I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings… 3) Did we not want to save the manual? Why you hating on someone with the pure intention to teach and spread positivity?
It’s almost like it’s a dying art old man… would you rather people not talk about driving manuals and have them be forgotten? Typical boomer mentality, always so combative…
Now your mama has no knees to be operating a clutch and has a cvt boat. Who cares
did u js turn right onto highway 15? dam u live so close to me wtf
Yessir! Love than turn into the highway for a little pull 😻
Smooth driving is the best driving, especially when driving stick shift!!
Satisfying and rewarding!
Canada is nice
It very much is 🙏🏼
You cruise too high in the rpms, sitting at 3k on speed limit. Can still go to 5th at that point and sit around 2-2.5k rpms. Otherwise great video.
Thanks for the comment! You’re right on that. I definitely think differently when I have the camera on my head 🥲
There are certain cars thats short on gearing by design. My 2015 Civic Si is at 3400 RPM cruising at 78 MPH in 6th gear
@@AnythingGoesJoJo I get that but what I'm saying is it's more efficient to be in 5th gear if you doing 75-80kmph in the 11th gen si if just cruising.
As someone who's been learning to drive manual, these are great tips man. The POV insights are definitely relatable in everyday driving. You really have to be proactive when driving a manual to be able improve your gas mileage and anticipate unpredictable drivers. This level of engagement and control is what I've really enjoyed about driving manual so far. Just food for thought, maybe make a script for these types of videos to get your point across more effectively because you seem to repeat yourself. Besides that, keep it up!
Thanks for the feedback and the comment. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Cannot respect you bc you have auto rev match on. #fail
It’s off bro 🤣🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
he literally tells us rev match is off in the first minute of the video LMAO, go troll somewhere else
Who cares, at least he is driving a manual
Who cares? I know how to drive and I still keep the auto rev match on because it’s just easier.
How are you an accountant but only have a Honda civic si? Go get a m3 or something
Im from Canada bro 🤣🙏🏼

@@TD_SI21 They are. You got good video quality going on. Keep up the good work!
@@billwylde4846thank you appreciate you a lot!
I have a 2023 Si and I drive the speed limit of 60 mph in the middle lane when the road is as empty as yours. This video was boring than my drive. Though when it gets crowded, I do bob and weave through traffic, if necessary, until I find that wide open spot to go cruise at the speed limit again. I hate being in tight crowds on the highway, it's an accident waiting to happen. All in "Normal" mode.
Appreciate the comment! It is only the highway driving that I would like to highlight for this car! Made the video for those who's looking to see what it's like to drive on the highway, not what it's like swerving haha!
@@TD_SI21Fair enough. When I said bob and weave through traffic. I'm not "swimming" through traffic. I guess I am in that perception if you are going faster than traffic then go for it. Actually go faster than traffic, don't "crawl" by them. Speed by the slower traffic but if you are going slow with traffic. The stay in a lane where traffic can go around you and usually the speed limit is a good enough cruising speed to let the traffic pass by you without hassle. Except those driver who tailgate you for awhile but I ignore them and let them suffer their own stupidity. I am just saying this because my brother goes above the speed limit but doesn't pass the traffic, especially in the left lane . So it irritates me watching my brother crawl by the slower cars. So, I tell him straight up if he is going to drive like that. Stay in the middle lane and go the speed limit simce he doesn't have the balls to go faster and his driving style is blocking the faster vehicles.
how much do you pay a month for '25 si?
The 25 goes for 38k ish MSRP CAD!
I pay $462.49. I put 10k down.
The 1.5 in this and the Integra a spec are such a fail.
The pro I guess is that it gets good econ!
This and 2 million hondas were just recalled
Checking with my dealer for this. Hoping mine doesn’t have that issue 🙏🏼
Good daily. Mine is tune etc. drive to work everyday. Just wish it was a damn 2.0 but it’s okay cause I’m getting a type r
I love this car. Congrats on your type r! Even a better daily haha
love how simple they made these cars i just wish they put a 2.0 under the hood 😭
Facts. It is an economy car after all so I guess why they put the 1.5 in :l
hou was this car in snow?
Haven’t tested it yet! But in the wet there’s a lot less grip driving hard on the factory all seasons. Will definitely test it out!
