Beautiful video ❤
Thank you mate ❤️
Absolutely brilliant video! Really smashing the content
❤️
Slightly different from my normal videos - but a real look into why people are truly foundational to your life. Let me know if you like this style of video and want to see more, or if you prefer my other videos more! Cheers x
how is this only 400 views ???!?!?!?
Hopefully your comment takes it further! Cheers mate
It's amazing how TH-cam can serve you up a video about the exact thing you're thinking about or going through. This is almost exactly my journey through reading almost verbatim (except I'm a little older than the Harry Potter generation). And its taken me longer in life to have this epiphany, but I'm so, so excited to be on the other side of it. Cheers.
This is great to hear mate, in this case the grass is certainly greener on the other side.
Hey bro, I’ve been struggling with my discipline and this truly did help. Thank you ❤
Glad to hear it! I hope you stick around 😁
brooooo how you not more popular this video was great.
Ahh I appreciate that! Thank you!
great vid. keep it up
Thanks, will do! Hope you stick around for more!
Just found this gem in the youtube recommendation, honestly great work🙌
Thank you 🙌
just walked 20.5k steps yesterday for the first time. lower back hurts like a bitch and my legs feel like it has just gone through 2 world wars. 10/10 would do again
very big potential here. keep it up!!
Thanks! Hope you stick around for more!
Great naration and editing. I'm doing this a part of a group challenge, to help get used to other possible discomfort.
Thanks! And good luck!
Hey Ollie- enjoyable video as ever and I'm glad to see you're still producing videos- keep it up
Thanks! I’m glad you’re still enjoying them! Hope all is well :)
Btw,600,262 steps in 30 days IS an INSANE amount of steps and mind-blowing!
Thanks! 🙏
hey
Don't read more books...Read better books more deeply. You're better off reading 15 to 20 great books and taking your time than in reading the 50 to 100 books in a year where you will forget almost everything you read.
Juat started daily morning cold showers this week. As I was researching I came across your reddit post with your link to this video. I don't have a reddit account so came here to watch and comment. Great video! I like that you included the science along with your own experience.
Thanks! And I hope you get a lot out of it!
But discipline allows you to plot a direction.
I’d argue discipline lets you act on your direction effectively, but don’t get me wrong, they’re both important! Thanks for watching!
Did you diet while doing this? Or keep diet the same?
Diet was the same, honestly this showed me that realistically diet was the thing holding me back from losing weight.
Did you feel soreness and pain in your leg, or did you have iliotibial band (ITB) syndrome and splint shin? I try to take 10 kilometers of walking 5 days a week, but I feel very tired and sore on the third day. So I take it on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
I did have some soreness, but nothing too bad. I do think it’s more important to allow yourself a rest day than to keep doing it constantly though!
20k steps isn't something special. every man should do it without effort
wrong, honestly. as an exercise physiologist i can't tell you how important the gym is. resistance training is absolutely key.
is it normal for brits to read yank literature ?
👍
I appreciated your comments on reading more. I also made a video about reading more: th-cam.com/video/6h8r32Gfq10/w-d-xo.html
That was impressive but tough...Great job keep it up
Thanks!
Where do you live? It's beautiful!
This was Chester in the UK!
So amazzzzzzzing
I hope you see this. I recommend the book Plato's Republic. Just give it a try. It changed my life, and I'm willing to bet it'll change yours as well.
I’ll check it out!
Great advice! Harry Potter is one of my favorites as well and I always come back to it for a re-read. One summer in college, I read the entire series in a week and that was my springboard into a lifetime of reading.
Sounds like an excellent week!
🎯 Key points for quick navigation: 00:00 *🎬 Self-improvement pitfalls* - Consuming self-improvement content without action can lead to a decline in mental health and confidence. - Generic advice lacks actionable steps tailored to individual situations. - The self-improvement genre often promotes unrealistic standards, impacting body image and self-esteem. 02:04 *💡 Flaws of generic self-improvement content* - Generic content lacks actionable advice beyond consuming the next video. - Toxicity and stereotypes in self-improvement content can negatively impact mental health and body image. - Short-form content exacerbates the problem by prioritizing appearance over qualifications. 03:54 *🛠️ Three steps to genuine self-improvement* - Understand your foundational aspects of life: health, social life, work, behaviors, and personality. - Identify your true values to focus on areas where you can make the most impact. - Take consistent action on one priority at a time until it becomes a habit, then move on to the next. You can’t just consume self improvement content you have to put it into action
So true
Brother I just want to say I appreciate this video so much and it deserves many more views. I've been on quite the journey recently to improve my life and I've defenitely felt that most of the content out there is way too generic. And it gets worse when they try to monitize it into a course. Thanks for this I will def give your method a go!
Appreciate it mate, thanks! Glad it was helpful and good luck with bettering yourself! 👍
I've probably consumed a lot of self improvement media, and I have only ever been able to really get real value out of Goggins. There's a chapter in his book where he focuses on his shortcomings towards others in his path to self righteousness, and it makes me realise that none of the preachers of self improvement have reached perfection, and they're just guessing their way through it like you or I. The humility makes it so lasting and personal.
Honestly I’ve never really dug into Goggins’ stuff - I always found the bits I did see felt a little too “motivation” heavy and less actionable, but admittedly, what you’re describing sounds genuinely beneficial - without that humility, and self-reflection, there’s really no point to trying to become better
"Self improvement is masturbation" - Tyler Durden
I have the exact opposite problem. Non-fiction is much easier for me than fiction.
That’s fair enough! Certain non-fiction I definitely find easier, but I find the range of boring non-fiction is much wider!
could you post your list for type 1,2 and 3 please? Thanks
Type 1: The type of non-fiction that you know you’ll enjoy, and tells a story similar to fiction. Type 2: The more challenging non-fiction, that you’re reading to learn from. Type 3: the type you just want to get rid of!
brother if u wanna scale ur personal brand with short form content just hit me up!!
Thank you for this video sir💐
Glad you enjoyed! 👍
Great vid mate! Love how candid you were
Thanks matey
This entire video in a way illustrates the quote "You are your own greatest enemy" and the ways to beat yourself at your own games. Man I love reading.
Honestly, you just made me see it from a whole different angle, so thank you! We hold ourselves to a certain standard for no real reason, and so genuinely it’s more important to question why we’re doing something, than how we should do it! Hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching 👍

Cloud Cuckoo Land reminded me of why I love books. Truly a book lover's book ❤
I’ll add it to my list!
@@thisisunitive please let me know your thoughts! 🙂
I have a walking pad under my standing desk.... can easily hit 10 - 14k by midday. Then walk the dog for the remainder I feel like I'm being paid to walk 😊
Great idea!
Did this morning and had one of the best days at the gym
Great to hear mate!
I love reading history. A lot of it is really stranger than fiction.
What history books do you recommend
@@Vuden13 rubicon is great by Tom Holland. He also wrote Persian Fire another I couldn’t put down. Stalingrad by Antony Beevor another one. And Ron Chernow’s biography of Alexander Hamilton. Moscow 1812 by Adam Zamoyski and any biography about Napoleon. And I have so much more I could suggest but reading all these should keep you busy for a bit.
I just turned around a looked at my book shelf. I only have non fiction there! Time to read some stories I think!
I think people who look down on people who read something that isn’t “literature” probably don’t do very much reading at all.
Funny enough I remember buying that Elon Musk biography on kindle and having to bring it to a family pool party and just keep reading it because it was so good.
Different interests for different folks! Glad you enjoyed it, it’s more important to find what interests you than to force yourself to like what others do 👍 Thanks for your comment man!
