Where i live a pickerel is a walleye, thats a pike.
No, it's not. It's a true pickerel. They don't grow big like a pike but they are related. I live in Saskatchewan, and we call walleye pickerel and walleye. But pickerel for a walleye isn't correct. It's a Canadian colloquialism. We don't get true pickerel in Sask, so there's no confusion. Ontario does have true pickerel. I'd imagine telling people that you're going (true) pickerel fishing takes a quick explanation.

get a landing mat and a net, ur hurting the fish. The fish also need to get released better, throwing them in the water only hurts them even more after you put htem on the grass.
