CAUTION: Many of the videos on this channel involve paddling in the southern area of Singapore, off Sentosa and around the Southern Islands. Please note that I find this to be a very challenging area to kayak in, despite my sprint-kayaking background and more than one decade's worth of water sports experience.
Please do not attempt similar expeditions and/or attempt to paddle from Sentosa to the Southern Islands without guidance unless you have adequate tidal knowledge (tidal stream direction, tidal coefficient, etc.) and are experienced in sea kayaking. This is absolutely not something we would recommend to beginners or even kayakers who have 1-star/2-star certification but without the aforementioned experience.
Particularly, the area between Sentosa Cove and Pulau Tekukor is known to be like a washing machine at times, exacerbated by heavy boat traffic - going there without pre-planning and knowledge of the conditions would be suicidal.

Between 25 June 2023 and 30 June 2023, I solo hiked the Karwendel Höhenweg from Scharnitz to Reith bei Seefeld. Hi there are many washing points along the beach at sentosa (especially outside the public toilets) where you can wash your equipment.

Great video! Thanks for posting. When did you go? How many kilometers did you walk? How many days? How did you get to the start and how did you leave (transportation wise).
We went in early July this year. Total distance was about 130-140km, which took about 8 days (excluding rest days). We reached Abisko via train and left Nikkaluokta via a local bus to Kiruna Station.

Unfortunately, the water around the area can be like a washing machine, so SUP might be a tad tricky. But please come with us on our kayaking expedition next time!

It takes about 45 mins from Siloso to Tekukor, 1 hour from Siloso to Lazarus and 1 hour 15 mins from Siloso to Sisters Islands! You’re welcomed to join in the future!

Adventure Paddlers at Pasir Ris! But I think they may no longer be open anymore. We bought our own inflatable kayak recently so we’ve been using that since.

@@joeyboey9558 if you rent from People’a Association you’ll be limited to certain boundaries based on your certification. If you use your own kayak, there are no restrictions (other than staying within Singapore waters) but please be very very careful when attempting to cross the shipping channel! If unsure, best to go with someone who’s familiar first :)

Bruh... You guys are the bravest bunch. Not easy to kayak long distance especially on inflatables! How was the itiwit? Did it track and glide well for an inflatable? I wanted to get one but not sure how good it is. And lastly, is the current really strong throughout the journey? i wanted to try on my ISUP but not sure if i can fight the current to and fro from the southern islands.
Hi! The water can be extremely choppy between Sentosa Cove and Pulau Tekukor, so I don't think it would be a good idea to do it on SUP (unless you have a safety boat/kayak following you). Regarding the currents, we usually time and plan our journey so that we are assisted by the tidal streams (rising tide: west; falling tide: east). The Itiwit that we use is the dropstitch version so it's slightly more rigid in rough water. Coming from sprint kayaks in the past, I would say that the tracking and gliding are serviceable at best. The good thing about the Itiwit kayak is that it is extremely stable and it holds its pressure very well through the course of the day so we never saw a need to re-inflate it mid-day.
