just picked up my all white jt, i want your exact rock lights but in rgbw. I would like to hook mine up to one of my aux switches. Do you know how i can go about hooking them up that way?
@@etrejo_ak yes it's super easy. That's the way I have them hooked to. I have the auxiliary switches as well now I don't have the RGBW version, but I don't believe there is much of a difference. I will reach back out to you on specifics on Instagram since I seen you sent a request. I can better explain there through DM When you buy be sure to use my code for free shipping
Awesome video! This trail looks like fun. Thanks for sharing.
Any trail recommendations for a stock Renegade Trailhawk? I just bought a 2019 and I'm estimating it'll take me about a year to do the build I want to be able to tackle harder stuff, but some cool easy trails in the meantime would be fun
@@coreybutler7668 congrats. I'm assuming you mean specifically at Stony Lonesome? If so I can't speak for the whole park. Although I did cover a lot of ground, my main focus was trail 404 and switchback since those are the badge trails. Of course I also did any trails that were along the route to get to those. But from everything I done, I'd say either if the main two service road trails there as well as 404 potentially. Getting to 404 is harder than 404 itself.
@sarge502jeep I'll take recommendations for anywhere you've been! Im actually across the river from you in Clarksville funny enough I stumbled on your channel by accident lol small world
@coreybutler7668 oh nice. Small world. Maybe catch you around The Ville sometime. To further answer your question based off places I've been I have a few. Not sure about you but I generally don't mind a few hour drive for a decent place, especially for badges. But in any case, Turkey Bay OHV has a variety of stuff for all levels. However for a simple scenic time the trails along the water aren't bad at all there. Bearwallow in Logan WV would be great for your stock set up. Also very scenic there too, there's some technical stuff there but overall just nice forest trails with elevated spots throughout. There's also plenty of trails here in KY around River River Gorge area within Daniel Boone National Forest. Although sadly enough, I've only driven through the area never been off-roading there but I've done a bunch of research and eventually plan to. Sadly seems like I've wheeled more outside of KY than in my own state. You could also probably do trail 5 at Redbird State Recreation Area in Linton Indiana (also a badge trail)
@sarge502jeep I drive a straight 16.5hrs (counting gas stops food etc) from here to Longmont Colorado once a year and did Los Angeles CA to here in a toyota camry in just over 2 days so nothing is too far for a good time! I swear I seen your comment on a video about the #5 trail and thats what made me hit your channel in the first place. I also have family in Huntington WV so definitely will have to check Logan out. I actually just downloaded the badge of honor app and it seems pretty cool. I appreciate your time sir!! About a year and $5000 later I'm hoping to have a decent little rig. It is just a 1.3L renegade so not like I'm gonna tackle anything super crazy. But I think it has the potential to be a decent little off road daily driver
@ for sure! Hit me up if you have any other questions.
Nicely done brotha and with no spotters either. Be careful on the trails solo my man!
@@fullthrottlerick199 yessir. Appreciate it. Definitely try to know my limitations, and doing heavy research prior tends to help the few times I've been solo. Which lately seems to be the case. Take care!
No lockers? They make a big difference!
@@chucky3000.0 team no lockers here. It's an Overland so doesn't come stock. I'm sure they make a huge difference but don't have any unfortunately. But I make due.
@@sarge502jeep I just did switchback this past weekend, they did a little work on Switchback but it's still a challenge. I have a 24' Willys and luckily it came with a rear locker. Helps out a ton. Happy trails!

Not noticing a lot of flex in the sidewalls. Did you air down?
@@yesihavebedbugs2786 I did but could have definitely went lower. I forget what I went down to this time. I want to say around 25psi.
I'm in the thinking process of this.....but still can't pull the trigger being that it cost nearly $700
@@summaof83 yeah definitely costly I sat on the idea for awhile myself. I did the PayPal pay in 4 options which made it slightly easier
Yotto Overland has them for $550
Looks awesome. At 1:53, would you say the lower part of the radiator is more exposed with this grill, than the previous one? I don't have a winch on mine, so I'm thinking the radiator might be visible in plain sight?
Great question and based off that angle and shot I can see your concern. So that bottom area of the grille itself is much more slim which in my case having a winch allows for more space than the older grille which my winch cables practically rested on the bottom of the old one. However with the winch, even my steel bumper sits out slightly due to the winch and winch plate. Winch plate itself even comes with spacers that slide on the mounting bolts. So point being it sits out slightly further so appears that the radiator is exposed especially from that angle since I was standing. However, from the new grilles I've seen on Jeeps without winches regardless of which stock bumper (plastic or steel version) the radiator isn't exposed and should line up with the bottom of the grille even though the grill is a bit more slimmer. But that's how much more thicker the older style was. If you Google or look at other photos of the new grille online on Jeeps without winches, I've never seen any online or in person have issues with the radiator being exposed at the bottom. It all should button up neatly. Mine looks like that from the angle and because I do have a slight space away from the grill to accommodate the winch and winch plate. Hope that helps. I can try to get you some better pics at a level angle sometime if you'd like. But you should be good if you're considering this grille. Also this video around the 2:55 mark should help you out as well. th-cam.com/video/QU6CKZyEvC0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6uJaSZjtHk_BHI5U
@@sarge502jeep Thanks for taking your time Sarge! Much appreciated. I see, and I feel at ease now, haha. Thank you. So I'm looking for the exact same grille as yours, and that's why I clicked this video. You might have mentioned it, but is the factory color Black (PX8), with gloss finish? And is this the "2024 JL/JT grille", or "24 aftermarket grille"? I see they offer both over at Distinction Applied.
@@simenskari So it appears they have changed their website a bit since I ordered. Not sure why. But from what I've gathered go to 2024 Grille then Aftermarket Option. The other grille option appears to be the classic original grille I got rid of which they do custom painting on as well. And yes the PX8 is the black code. Then just select if you have/want the front camera hole option. To me it looks as if the new changes in their website is due to sourcing an aftermarket grille option for the 2024. Not sure what that's about since mine was an exact Mopar stock grille. It also appears the price has dropped slightly than what I paid. I'm guessing they are getting Mopar replicas now. Once you select your options read the print below everything is what I gathered. You can also reach out to them through their contact link. Brian (the owner) is pretty responsive and straight forward so you could ask other specific questions if need be.
@@sarge502jeep Perfect! Thanks so much for your help and input. I'll reach out to Brian.
Thanks for showing! I think it looks great I have a gray metallic Sahara and planning on ordering the same grille as yours but in the matching gray color. I am glad you showed this gun gray color because I was wondering how will that match and I think it’ll look good with gray. What did you do with your old grill? Are you selling it?
I agree. Old grille sat in the garage for awhile but sold it some months ago.
Thank you for the response. I’ve just placed an order for mine, very excited!
Great video thank you for posting! Can you purchase the required helmet nearby? Where do you buy the trail pass?
So permits can be purchased at the trailhead during hours of operation. I got there early. I believe they open around 8-9. You can purchase helmets at a nearby Walmart or something like that or just bring one if you plan it advanced and purchase wherever you'd prefer in that case. But I will say the whole helmet rule which initially made me put this place off for the longest, wasn't really enforced. I had mine with me and wore it most of the time But there was no one there to really enforce it when I was there. But at least come prepared is what I suggest.
First silver lake video I've ever seen that actually captures the steepness of test hill. What kind of camera?
Thanks and even still I personally think it doesn't do justice even on camera. But it's a GoPro Hero 10 Black.
Looks great! With the 35” wheels did you have to re-gear? What gear size do you have? Thx
Overland comes with 3.73 gears standard. Going to 35s I personally didn't and don't think you need to regear. Going to anything larger I'd definitely recommend. That's why I didn't go larger. In a perfect world id like a 37" but don't want to regear right now
Hell yeah 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Nice Broski.
Do they offer a version with the hood lock cut out?
Don't quote me but I don't believe so, but to my understanding the hood lock area shouldn't have any effect on anything so I don't believe so. There is a slight difference in models with a front trail camera verse non like I have
Agree on the creature comforts. I am debating going the High Altitude route and dealing w/suspension and tires later vs getting a Mojave or Rubicon. Can't stand orange/red interiors and not gonna rock crawl so no Rubicon for me. I like the idea of 4.10 gears already and all the frame upgrades in the Mojave though and that 37's fit on the Mojave's w/no lift. Good enuf for street driving but would need something for any off roading. The color matched stuff on the HA's looks killer though and finding a Mojave with that and a bed liner is proving difficult.
🦆✌
My Man, dope look str8 bad ass..Triple Black, wicked.....Rubicon X here....if u ever in the ATL let Jeep it up ✌....great review
Appreciate it man. I'm all about the simple sleek and practical feel. Must be nice with the new Rubi X! Stay up!!
Really nice truck. I like the way you are organized ... really nice. The Diamondback cover is soo nice. I am looking to buy a Gladiator I the next year. I have owned several Wranglers and loved them all- 2011, 2015 and a 2021 all great vehicles. I also was thinking about an overland but now it seems like the Willys is the one in the middle. I have subscribed and will look forward to your videos. Kevin in Edmonton AB Canada
Thanks yeah I'm big on organization. And I love that diamondback but yeah if you're going to buy brand new, unfortunately the Overland is out of the question which, as mentioned is kind of sad because it's a very great trim to have. Willies is a good option I guess and pretty close to it although I'm sure even with a willies if you were to add in all the creature comforts that the Overland generally has is going to be slightly more expensive. But I agree it's probably going to be the closest trim to compare. Unless you can find an Overland in the next year that is slightly used up into 2023 prior to discontinue.. in any case good luck and thanks for the subscribe
@sarge502jeep Slightly used is definitely an option for sure and perhaps an Overland may be available. Take care
Percent on front windshield?
Sorry not exactly sure. I got the rears to match the already tinted front. Then they did the windshield slightly off from that I believe.
It looks good and clean!
I tend to be in agreement with you. I had a similar logic. And I like the clean look like you are doing. I think it is interesting that Jeep has gotten rid of the Overland trim and replaced it with the "High Altitude" formerly a variant of the Overland with the wide axles, some safety stuff. I got a Freedom Edition as a result of my approach but would have taken an Overland if it checked a few more boxes or High Altitude. I like it because it has the steel "winch ready" bumper and I'm getting a hoop. At first I was all for an after market bumper, but since I got the steel on it and after looking, I find I like that look very much and will save some bucks by using it.. I like the Overland side steps. I'm actually putting some MOPAR knock off side steps (300 bucks/look just like OEM) on as I like em and even if I whack em, I can get some sliders/steps... In 2024 the new Willys with a 3.73 rear end AND a rear locker and the wide axles, I believe, is the real change up from previous models. BUT, if I want a rear locker I can do it. And since I do NOT intend to do the chute or other Moab tests, ever, I don't need all that. I will be doing more than any other vehicle except a jeep can do like Montana 4WD trails, but an Overland, even a basic Sport can do all that... The only box unchecked on mine are the Aux switches. I think you got those on your edition if I am not mistaken. But I can gulp and have them put on if I choose and likely will. I actually would have preferred the "non-painted" fenders but not a biggie... The painted ones look good and my top is the non painted version. I also got the spray in bedliner factory and after four Ram trucks, two with factory spray in, two without, I'm convinced the OEM bedliner is the best. Not that the others are not OK...just sayin. I have a granite crystal and it lends itself well to the "blacked out" "night edition" look. You pay 2500 bucks for it on a Ram 1500 (not payin that much for a cosmetic package) and get it for free with a Gladiator in certain colors. I'm going with a Truxedo Lo Pro tonneau as it will allow me to put the Truxedo "Elevate" rack on with their rail system AND the tonneau. I'm in for right at 1400 total and installed. I could do it myself, but decided to go with my after market installer. The good thing about this system is that I can "elevate" the rack from 18 inches to like 27 and it is easy to remove when not engaged in Overland types of runs. I'll likely get a clamshell tent to mount on it. I like your bed storage system. realtruck.com/p/elevate-rack-system/ I'm also going with a roll up tonneau as I've had a three fold and find they eat up too much real estate in the bed even on a full size truck. I had to bring home appliances a couple times and having to pull the whole tonneau is not worth it and I don't like how they generally close. I'd get a hard one that slides, but I'm not gonna spend that either. www.truxedotonneaucover.com/truxedo-pro-x15/
Agreed.
Right! We can get arb lockers, if we really want them in the future! Love your build bro!
Exactly. Besides the Overland is actually very capable off road as is. I was very surprised even without lockers. Thanks too!
Nice I subbed because my nickname is sarge as well. Last name Sargent
Thanks. Same here. Ironically I also do design work. Check out my Instagram @sarge502jeep
The downside to the overland is no lockers, and offroad plus and sway bar disconnect other than that is a good jeep to take to moderate trails
Agreed. I will say my Overland has still performed surprisingly well off-road in moderate settings.
Not difficult to manually disconnect your sway bar. Lockers you can always get aftermarket.
@@dhall5661 exactly my point. I've manually disconnected many times besides, there are a lot of aftermarket options to make disconnecting even that much more simpler like the Apex auto lynx that I want to get eventually for example. Much more easier and affordable to build to your liking.
Nice gladiator.👍

I had a choice between twins, one firecracker red and one granite crystal. I waited too long and the red one was gone... My wife has a 2019 granite crystal Cherokee Trailhawk elite package that basically is a blacked out night edition similar to mine and yours in the impression it gives. I love the way that thing looks... But, thirty minutes after you wash and wax it, it's dirty and looks dirty. So, I will deal with it. @@sarge502jeep

Would you say 4x4 is mandatory for the main service road?
I only went in 4L one time the whole time there and that was in the deep sand pit area. Other than that I stayed in 2H the whole time even for the side roads which I didn't do a whole lot of. Didn't even air down.
@@sarge502jeep Thanks!
More like trail of shame. A Subaru Impreza could have driven all that just as easily.
Ok. Obviously. I knew that going in. Even the description of you read it, I say it's basically a scenic forest ride with little difficulty geared for nearly any stock Jeep. So thanks for pointing out the obvious. Nobody claimed it was rock crawling through the Rubicon Trail. Besides there are more slight obstacles throughout the park that I didn't hit or simply not record.
