Hello I'm Kristen!
I’m a birder, (master) naturalist, native plant gardener and backyard bird feeding specialist. As the owner of two Wild Birds Unlimited stores (in Barrie, ON and Newmarket, ON) I have the pleasure of talking to people about birds and nature everyday- and I love it! My family and I enjoy our backyard bird and wildlife so much, that we wanted to create a LIVE Bird Feeder Cam to share the joy we get from the wildlife we share space with.
On this channel you can tune into our Live Bird and Wildlife Cams, get tips on feeding and attracting birds and wildlife to your yard, get tips on gardening with native plants, as well as joining in on many other adventures.
Thank you for viewing my channel. I hope you’ll find something of value. If you enjoy my content please like, subscribe and share.
Happy Birding!

Baby American Robin Hatches and Takes it's First Meal from Mom. ❤️
มุมมอง 2885 หลายเดือนก่อน
At the beginning of this video you can see that the egg is still intact and mom keeps coming off the nest as if something is going on. At 2:42 we can see the egg beginning to crack open at one end. Finally at 11:15 we get our first glimpse of the hatchling as mom stands up revealing the baby. At 19:55 mom carries part of the shell away to clean up the nest and not draw attention from predators....
New Species: Red-headed Woodpecker

The bird didn't show up for long or get in great view of the camera but here it is swooping from a tree in the back onto the top of the station. Best seen at 0:19

You have an amazing bird feeder setup and background scenery. I'm guessing you must be further north than me (I'm in Markham) as I saw snow on your live stream now. New sub ✅👍Oh...and the Evening Grosbeak is beautiful 🙂🐦
@@chrisoutdoors thanks so much!! I’m not as far as you might be thinking 😉 We are the GTA as well 👍
Madness....it should be simple and not huge and expensive like this HUGE product
I'm not sure the technology is there yet for smaller wifi setups. A power source is needed and the solar panel just makes things so much bigger. The box itself was appropriate dimension wise for the species I wanted to attract. I totally agree about it being made more simple and less expensive.
Me and my wife have picked over 500 pds of seeds in the last 10 years
Wow!! Thats incredible. Was that to plant them in new areas?
@@KristenMartyn because seed companies that sell the seed have to get it from people like me
Very thorough…thank you.
It's so cool!!!
Thank you!
Where can I get that suet feeder that the pileated woodpecker is on and what happened to your live stream?
It's called the Startling Stumper Suet Feeder if you're in Canada you can get them from either of our stores www.wbu.com/barrie or www.wbu.com/newmarket and if your in the US you can order from a Wild Birds Unlimited location there www.wbu.com/store-locator/. We will have some new live feeds starting soon. We had to do some maintenance, clean everything and then we took a bit of a holiday.
i miss the red headed, had them in NY not here in Tx thanks for even a fast glimpse
They are so gorgeous! I'm really hoping a family moves in. I've had about 3 sightings of them in our area in the last 5 years. So I have some hope but sadly they are rare here.
Where are the squirrels?
Great question! We prevent them with baffles.
So beautiful
Thank you they are such a cute little family!
We have a pair of red bellied woodpeckers here in west Texas but would love to see these other birds ❤
So lovely! I bet you have all kinds of amazing birds where you are!
Ohhhh lucky you! I had one visit a couple of years ago and I'm still thinking about it! :)
They are such a memorable visitor. I hope he returns for you!
Indigo buntings are gorgeous !!!!!
They are so gorgeous. We feel so lucky to get them at our feeders!
That is not a Red Headed Woodpecker. It is a Red Bellied Woodpecker.
The one on the feeder is a Red-belly. The bird that flies over the station at 0:19 is a Red-headed. 😊
I am jealoue of ur awesome setup for the bjrds,,,,
Thanks so much! We really get a lot of joy out of our feeders.
Does wild birds Unlimited still sell that caged suet feeder? I can’t find it on the online store.
Yes many of our stores carry it but I don't believe its available online yet. You would have to call your local store to have it shipped. 😊
That is a cute bird! What type of seed do you have out?
He's loving the white millet I put out for sparrows 😀
Had our first purple finch at our backyard in Central PA last week!
Oh yay how awesome!
I saw my first purple finch a few weeks ago. Also, the red-winged blackbirds have returned, though none have come to my feeder yet.
That's awesome congrats! They are such beautiful finches.
💙💙💙💙🙌🙌🙌🙌
Happy for you
Thanks so much 😄🙏
I've never seen a black squirrel with a reddish tail.
Pretty interesting I thought!
I looove this little bird.
Me too they are so adorable! 🥰
Thank you! This is wonderful.
Glad you like it!
You mean a Fox Song Sparrow, right? I absolutely love the black squirrels. Looks like they didn't like the visitor coming in there.
We do get Fox Sparrows but no this one is a cute little Song Sparrow :)
😬Only the woodpecker remained "hidden" in the place.
They are good at being "statues". It's a great strategy for avoiding detection and seems effective!
That looks like a Wild birds unlimited tray feeder? I drive semi for the company that produces most of their seed and many of their various products. I deliver to 15 to 18 stores a week in Virginia and North Carolina
Yes you got it. Good eye! They are Wild Birds Unlimited Modern Rustic Tray Feeders 😀
Wow! Counted as many as 11 in the camera at one time
Crazy eh?! We didn't know there were this many visiting. A nice surprise.
So neato!! 👌
🙏
I saw a huge flock of blackbirds flying over my hometown yesterday. I am excited to see the Red-Wings again!
It's certainly nice to have them back and hear them. I heard a few calling in the last few days! I hope yours return soon
Love the black squirrel in the background!
So cute aren't they?!
Love watching all the birds at your feeders! I could watch ALL day! ❤
Thank you so much Cori for tuning in!
hu❤❤
❤️
😉👍
😁
I love the Pileated Woodpecker - he's beautiful, but someone should come up with a good recipe for those Starlings.
We can block them and discourage them from our feeders. I just tend to do that only when they really become bothersome.
wow!
They are such incredible birds!
Just beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😊
Very nice, once again thank you for sharing😉👍😃
Thank you! It was such a beautiful snowfall and the birds really flocked to the feeders
I believe the Northern Flicker is one of the most beautiful birds that visits my yard. If it wasn't for the red on the back of his head, he'd look like a small bird of prey.
They are stunning! We are really enjoying him hanging around. They certainly are gorgeous!
That is a good setup you have there. I need to work on mine, and I might use yours as one to go off of. By the way, that's a beautiful, black squirrel. I used to see one coming home from work, but they did a forest burn and I haven't seen it since. I was tempted to set a trap for it and bring it home but didn't.
Thanks for the kind words. I'm always playing with it to make it better but I'm pretty happy with this set up currently.
Very cool !!👍👍😃😉
Thank you! Cheers!
