One of my favorite singers. Saw him first at WRVA Old Dominion Barndance, Richmond, VA, back in the '50s. Loved his tenor voice and his unique phrasing of a song. He and Merle did a set of songs before each passed. A treasured CD. RIP Mac.

Ill say again. We all miss Jeff around my neck of the woods. Good soul and dang good picker! Full of beans half the time but we miss him.

Ole Jeff is full of beans and licks. I miss him! He used come pick with us. Always playing fiddle or sometimes guitar and letting me play mandolin. Hed say" son, your good". Knowing dang well he could play circles around me and i couldn't pick a lick.😂 Still cant ..😒

This line-up of LRB was on their first LP, "Heartaches Are In Style This Year". The musicians even then, before Shelor, were exceptional. And he has maintained that standard. Would like to see some of the cuts from that first album incorporated into LRB's current material. Though more contemporary than LRB's post-Shelor material, the arrangements and tunes deserve re-visiting and would be refreshing to hear.

Can you please change the title of the video? This is The Blugrass Strangers. My dad is singing lead and playing bass in this video.

I saw Larry play an early version of this tune at The Appalshop in Whitesburg Ky. . The local radio station WMMT was holding a fundraiser . He pulled lyrics out of his pocket about 1/2 way through the song. I witnessed a great performance that evening.

This was recorded by PBS for public tv show and was filmed at Olive Hill Ky bluegrass festival.
