Followers of the Apocalypse, the most benign and loving, selfless group in the entire Fallout franchise, killed by the Brotherhood because they were paranoid about Veronica sharing technological information. They were slaughtered in cold blood. The dogma of the Brotherhood is truly disgusting and blinding. I get so sick to my stomach every time I hear someone yell "Ad Victoriam!" now because I know they've been duped into believing a bunch of nonsense. As if this quest doesn't make the Brotherhood look bad enough, there's also Arthur Maxson vs Paladin Danse in Fallout 4's quest Blind Betrayal.

The BOS subplot is one of the better ones in this game

everyone but the Minutemen suck in Fo4. The BOS are a bunch of people scared of technology and will kill to make sure they have it ALL. The institute are morally bankrupt nerds who will take lives at the cost of "advancement." The Railroad will gladly kill if it means freeing synths, regardless of how many lives it takes. And I mean.... The raiders speak for themselves.

The reason they act like this is likely because they detect some enemy nerby that either detected the player character or is in a caution state probobly bark scorpions since these can be found at hidden valley. For some reason this sometimes continues to happen even if the player is no longer in danger. There's a trick with a stealth boy I know. When an npc is aggroed said item can be used to put them in a pacified state and the player's status back to "hidden" that includes all npcs around you not just the aggroed one. I mostly use it to get away with killing an npc of a faction like the NCR to get a certain item like a unique weapon or when I accidently hit an npc I didn't ment to so I don't have to reload a safefile which results in my game crashing sometimes for some odd reason. Works most of the time for me so if you have a lot of stealth boys that is a thing or you can wait until those maniacs calm down whenever that will be. It works in Fallout 3 as well not sure about other games.

The mojave chapter is the best written brotherhood in the entire franchise. My favorite one by far

As much as I don't like the Mojave chapter compared to others the fact that McNamara will willingly Allie with the NCR and make peace with other groups show his flexibility with neighbors.

This mission guaranteed a Hidden Valley Destruction speedrun being included in all of my NV playthroughs.

This quest made me permanently hostile towards The Brotherhood.

It’s honestly really easy going past the deathclaws too all you have to do is stay on the side of the mountain and be sure to keep going along it and are high up so deathclaws won’t hit you

I have put in over 1000 hours into Fallout 4 and never actually got this far in the story as I find it so very boring and pointless and I really don't care about it. Usually I would follow the story until killing Kellogg so that I can have Curie's mind transferred to a sythn body. I now have a mod that shortcuts all that and I can do it as soon as her affinity is high enough to start Emergent Behavior Closest I've come to finishing the story is through the mod Diary of a Madman which allows you to blow up everyone. I blew up the Institute, I blew up the Prydwen and I blew up the Castle (the last one was purely so I could shoot Preston Garvey in the face and stop all the "this settlement needs help!" crap! ) One of these days I might actually get around to finishing the story with one of the factions. Yes, maybe one day... But now Fallout London is out, it won't be today!

the only one of these that i've ever done is cass because for some reason im the mojave's biggest villain for "stealing" a bunch of rad-x and radaway from the ex-hideout of now-gone ghouls
