Specifically, the President has the authority to reclassify public lands from one category to another, such as from timber land to alienable land, based on the recommendation of agencies like the DENR. While long-term possession does not lead to private ownership of timber lands, reclassification allows them to be owned privately. There are also various permits and agreements administered by DENR that allow utilization of forest resources through activities like selective logging, agroforestry, and ecotourism. 🤓
