Struggled. One pair of feathers went ok the other "side" would not marry and after several tries the fibers separated into single strands. Only had enough in the end to tie 3 of the 5

Interesting variation. The splayed tail feathers should give it a nice swimming action.

Paused and rewinded this one more times than Wild Things on the ol' VCR.

There is no red spots

I use tenkara fly rods now. Do you tie tenkara flies size #8 #10 are my favorites

Ugh, this is tough for me. Never liked locking hackle down with reverse wrapped ribbing……

Hey Tim, again great instruction. I did change soft hackle feathers just for ease with these clumsy fingers. Besides traditional western fly fishing here, can’t wait to try this pattern on a smaller creek with my Tenkara rod.

We would love to know if you’ve had success with this fly? Or what is your favorite color to tie it in?
