London Hidden Secret Bunker (Belsize Park Deep Level Shelter)
มุมมอง 6302 ปีที่แล้ว
The Bombings of 1940 forced a reappraisal of deep-shelter policy and at the end of October the Government decided to construct a system of deep shelters linked to existing tube stations. London Transport was consulted about the sites and required to build the tunnels at the public expense with the understanding that they were to have the option of taking them over for railway use after the war....

Try Woodland Fort the entrance by the old dump doubt you'll get in
Cool video mate
Anyone been in what was Sgt Peppers? Favourite all time place.
It’s a big gas mask dump from World War Two, contaminated with asbestos I presume. Good video! Regards, TM.
That was the Dockyard training centre, Goshen yard. Spent the first year of my apprenticeship there under DML in 1989.
I have been all round there Uncle used to keep his pigs in the fort early 50s. uncle and aunt lived in Scraesdon cottage it was bulldozed down into the railway tracks.. Sid and Flo Laythorn . Officers were living in the rooms by the gates
Loved this place, was cheaper than Vue!
Is this where the hair salon used to be? Went there to get me some highlights. Came out looking like Barbie 🤣
Had a singing and dance lesson there back in 2001. Place had good vibes, really wanted to study performance arts, but ended up doing other stuff. Sad seeing it now.
Hi Derelict Plymouth. I have just sent you an email regarding some footage within this video. Awesome drone shots!
The records you guys trod over on the floor are worth serious money nowadays, it's breaking me watching this video 😢shame this place burned and took the tunes with it. Missing by EBTG (Todd Terry remix is on this one absolute CLASSIC) - £30+ Pump Up the jam by Technotronic - £30 Closer than Close by Rosie Gaines - £10 ish (CHOON) Horny by Mousse T - not worth as much but a decent one
Where is this?
Is this in plymouth?
Watched Aston Villa win the European Cup there in 1982. The only place I could find with a TV in the bar.
There is a couple of RAOB lodges over here in Northern Ireland but I never joined because I don't drink and It seems to be a drinking Fraternal Order. I HAVE seen inside a working Oddfellow's( another Uk,but not Northern Ireland fraternal order) lodge building while I was over in England on holiday.
Sounds like you had a real pig walking next to you :)
But still, if the factory gets demolished, the houses might get abandoned too, even better than the factory
This brings back memories from 40 years ago when I last explored that tunnel and long staircase. At the time the entrance at the top was not bricked off and I was able to get all the way from the bottom entrance in the moat to area at the top of the stairs that you visited.
Lived in skardale gds in 50s and we were able, thru his back garden, to enter the fort. Very creepy.
As the description says, it was used as part of the Royal Marines final ex, the final assault ended here when I served in the 90's & still is today, formidable place to attack, the 2 sided steps were used as a debrief platform at the end of the exercise, brings back memories.
I did an overnight paranormal investigation here about ten years ago when it was still open. It was looking very run down even then with peeling paint and damp. I don’t think it was making much money by then so they were allowing paranormal groups in overnight for a small charge. Behind the neglect you could see hints of its former art deco glory. Solid brass door handles etc
Surely these old forts must be listed buildings?
they used to be naval accommodation in the 80s
I remember Saturday morning pictures in the 60s and my sister seeing the Beatles and the Stones here as well, there is a tunnel that comes up in the building next door that was a television studio and it was used by the Beatles to escape the hoards of fans waiting outside.
YAY
Oh wow its sad to see the reel cinema look so bad me and my sister used to go there with our kid's
I was looking forward to the juicy bit at the end with the po po
Ah yes this one has mostly been demolished now. Great video!
Cool video mate ,good to see an upload again.
I know mate so much going on over the last year been hard to keep up with everything 😢
@@DerelictPlymouthUnearthed yea, if you see any of my video you have not been too, let me know, I can show you them, message me on Instagram
Nice to see you back 👏👏👏
Just found this. I remember staying in the flat on the top floor facing the back @ 12.00 23years ago. It was like a rat run getting to the room. Great video.
I'm 34 now and remember so many gigs in this place in my later teens. Such a wicked little pub that had such an amazing underground scene and had some amazing bands play over the years
ASBESTOS!!!!!!
Why?
Why not?
What I don't get is how all this treasure is not been taken also I don't get why he didn't blur the guys crack it's a bit inappropriate
How do you get there please?
Great video although it like to make a correction, I believe this building was built in the 1930's, not the 1700s!
Personally think Plymouth is a massive Star Fort city and there are parts everywhere
what is this place called in plymouth
Nice to see my drawings were shown off for a few seconds
3:27 me and my friends just about got through that lil window
thats full of filters, lenses and anti dimming paste. yet to see an actual facepiece. cool find tho
Glad to say you were wrong. Whilst the site has been bought. It's no way near ready for demolition any time soon. The councils have not even agreed with the buyer as to what is going to happen/be approved to be built in its place. The site is going to be a nightmare to demolish- there is asbestos everywhere still in ceilings and walls, broken on the floor, and contaminating other apparatus too. The cost will be colossal. And the hamlet of Taddiport buried in a valley is going to make it difficult to plan the structure of how such a project would be undertaken. The factory is tightly packed against housing on its right, the river to its left and other industrial businesses behind it. Even when it begins being demolished its gonna take time! Lastly, these businesses will need consulting on the project since driving through the factory is their only access. Having been several times this year. The fencing has been removed around the office buildings and no work is undergoing. They found far more disintegrating asbestos than they expected which has more or less spooked them and halted any real progress. Hopefully this will continue to be around to serve the kids who have nothing better to do due to North Devon's lack of infrastructure or activities, and us photographers, graffiti artists and urban explorers who love to use it as a creative space and documentation facility.
When i first went here in the 90s it was called "spirals" by the youth. The spiral staircase was all accessible and went further down also
I remember digging it out haha there was a huge concrete slab on the top until it got filled in again.
Thank you for your upload video 📹 I thought your filming 🎥 was very clear and respectful. I think 🤔 this place is massive and very isolating for the people who lived and worked there. The building itself did not flow properly
That was fascinating. I never knew that was in Plymouth. Is it still accessible?
22:14 weird there is door with a lock on the outside?
There is now yes still ways in there without going near the doors 😉
Where do you find these places, interested in exploring myself!
Great video mate
Thank you for this video. 😁👍🙏 I am a Buddhist monk and was trying to find pictures of the new Buddhist temple and meditation centre being built there when I found this video. It has given me an insight into the fort. 😁👍🙏
