I have been using my Vitamix 5000 for almost 30 years. It continues to be my best household investment. I still use it daily for my morning smoothie. I have used it for almost everything. A great products that is easy to use.

Isn't it a pain to get that small amount of chopped carrots and onions out of that tall skinny blender? For that reason, I'm leaning more toward one that's a little fatter at the base.

Great info on the machine. I thought I had broken mine when I was making hummus. It worked wonderfully the first time I made it. The second time I doubled the recipe and it didn’t mix it like it did the first time. I didn’t know about the high speed selector. I will try that the next time. I’m still wondering if it is not working properly and am afraid to use it.

I dunno...I grew up in Ontario schools during the 1960s and 1970s.....we did not have breakfast clubs. Canada was not near as wealthy as it is today, but parents fed their kids...especially breakfast....there was no school breakfast clubs...we actually learned in our schools then, not attend to get breakfast...mom did that! Teachers were not unionized, AND when they said "it is about the kids" they meant it ...not that they wanted more money or they would strike. So why do we have breakfast clubs? Have our wonderful Liberals at the Federal level brought people into Canada, with no skills, excepts a vote to keep them in power? To hell with enriching Canada with skilled newcomers, let's get that Liberal vote. LIBERALS....this is a blight on Canada, making us third world. Well Canadians keep voting Liberal, they haven't destroyed a once great nation yet, but with your treasonous vote you'll enable them to meet their goal!
