This is the daily Cincinnati,Ohio to Norcross,Georgia Manifest Train. Light provided via a Ford Bronco.I did the best that I could given the conditions.

Caught this empty coal train early Sunday morning.Was lucky enough to catch this fine lead locomotive.My morning voice was drowned out by the train.Carter the dog made a wonderful appearance at the end. Thanks for checking it out.

After counting it looks like 388 axles. I picked up a partial transmission from a defect detector 10 miles away.I thought that it stated 500 something and assumed this train had 500 plus axles.I misstated 500 cars during this video which was obviously wrong.That's what happens when you talk on the fly. It was a long hot day and it took a toll on us.

How many trains come through each direction on average each day? More on weekdays?
About 6 trains a day.Probably 50-50 each direction.Yes it is usually a bit busier during the weekdays.

How do they determine who is on main?
The short answer is priority. They usually use the siding when two trains are basically going by at the same time.The "lesser priority" train goes on the siding and either rolls slow or stops for a passing train(s) to go by on the main.If it is clear to go to the next set of double rails,Then generally speaking, they all use the main.The siding can be used to go by crews doing maintenance on the main. I'll explain more when you visit.

CSX owns the line.Indiana and Ohio Railroad leases it.There is an ex-CSX locomotive in the lash up.
he did not see u, did not sound his horns. i have a video "bucks lodge" on my channel where there are numerous of those tags, was in Maryland. we burn coal and trash. have another video "trash train" where the train is backing into the power plant with trash from our municipal collection site.
