    I just discovered your review. Thanks a lot for trying out Nolvus. Version 6 (3500 mods) will be released soon. The combat is more immersive with stuff like stances integrated in a custom made skill tree with buff and debuff. I made some show cases on my channel (most of them are just graphics only as we speak tho). Keep up the good work

    for me nolvus is pretty stable,andi had only one crash and been playing it on n off for about a year... love the witcher monsters that are in that as well.. vektor did such an awesome job, cant wait to try out nolvus v6 when he releases that.. however you missed one important detail with nolvus though that i find extremely excellent. nolvus has its own its own installer yes, but it makes copy of your stock skyrim folder and runs off of that. which basically means that bethesda can update skyrim 1000 more times and it wont matter as those updates will never effect your nolvus playthrough.

    You're also slightly underselling the power of emulation. Plenty of devices do gameboy games and psp pretty well; but it offers enough power to very solidly emulate ps3 and it can slaughter ripped switch games 💀. The OLED model is the best "mid gen refresh" I've ever seen as well. Yes, the power is 98% the same (more efficent and faster ram does help some here) but every single possible flaw of the lcd model was upgraded for it's price while offering the goregous screen. Or get the lcd model refurbished from valve or GS for...less than a switch itself. You have options of complete value or stunning premium features. It's just so mind boggling versatile. It can use any setup, any controller, play most of your pc library games smoothly (and ones that it can't be streamed very easily. You could use moonlight/sunshine to get 90 hz at max graphics with barely any latency off your own desktop and get 8 or 9 hours of battery life.) and it just powerful enough to emulate quite literally any console you would want. The touchpads are also awesome for the desktop mode unlike the allys and gos that rely on their joysticks for it. I play on PC and had most of the consoles; but it's honestly the best "console" ever designed to me. It doesn't replace modded dsis and 3dses for their two screens for me but it does everything perfectly for me.

    The Steamdeck is too large, to be a great portable device. I mainly use it as a HTPC these days. Also it's quite weak with its 720p focus, dock it to a tv or even a monitor and you're greeted with very ugly image quality and thanks to the low amount of ram even 1080p resolution can become problematic. The 16GB RAM for the GPU+CPU just doesn't cut it really, they should have gone with 32GB instead, then perhaps performance would be better and you wouldn't need to play PC games at the lowest possible setting.

  • @brandongabel

    You pretty much covered exactly how I feel. I was a kid who wasn't always home due to family stuff, so I always had a handheld on me like a GBA, with the SP being my favorite at the time. I also had a PS2 and N64 at home and all I ever wanted was to play those games on the go. When the PSP came out I was so excited, even though it felt like a bit of a compromise with only one thumbstick. Flash forward to the Switch, and it became my all time favorite console strictly because of the versatility, but also because I loved the generation of games Nintendo put out for it. About a year and a half ago I picked up a Steam Deck LCD because it seemed like something I'd enjoy, and damn did I enjoy it. It easily took the place of my favorite console of all time, even beyond my more powerful PC, because of the portability. When the OLED came out, I bought one for my gf for Christmas and while I was setting it up, I decided it was a worthwhile investment to sell my LCD and upgrade. Easily the best decision I've ever made, I highly recommend it. The LCD is still amazing, but the OLED is on another level, or at the very least brings some very solid quality of life improvements. I'm really looking forward to whatever the next iteration of the SD is whenever Valve decides it's the right time to make it, but I'd rather them take their time like they said to make sure the tech is a good enough jump in the future. Anyway, solid video! You gained a sub.

    My steam.deck is the ultimate backlog killer. I mostly play old games on it, like Fallout 3, and Sleeping Dogs, but I'd never play these games otherwise. I also have the 64gb LCD and a big micro sd. I love it, but i hate the lack of shader cache management. My storage is almost full, despite only having 2 small games installed on my micro sd, not the main drive.

      Sleeping dogs is such a cool game, I want to play it again at some point. Also I am using a cryoutility tool which moves all the shader caches to the sd card so the 64gb does get full from it. Its pretty handy! Thanks for watching 😀

    Awesome video and editing! Was fun watching. Also you have interesting approach - play on PC first, then on downtime you can play it in worse quality but in more comfortable position with Steam Deck. I like choosing a device for a game and stick to it for that game. I have a lot of gaming devices and love gaming in general. It is amazing how far handheld gaming come. But it always was, is, and will be several steps down compared to stationary device (PC\console). Currently even low\med settings are quite beautiful and in my opinion the only thing holding graphics down is resolution. Typical setup of steam deck 800p is a little low resolution-wise, however it becomes worse in modern games, where it is even lower than that. There are no drastically more powerful handheld devices than steam deck. Also they all big and bulky. What I prefer - cloud gaming. Wait wait wait, hear me out! I meant local streaming from my PC. Currently I use the Logitech G Cloud for it and I like it more than a steam deck. First of all, local streaming works flawlessly if set up correctly. Lag is unnoticeable even for hardcore games (about 30-40 ms), picture quality is good and stable. It has 1080p screen with better colors than steam deck LCD. It is 40% lighter while having same screen and ergonomic controls. And it allows you to play 10+ hours from a battery, with highest settings possible (if your PC allows). Yeah Steam Deck is king in terms of controls. It gives you more console-like experience and simpler to use. But local streaming is my go-to way of playing PC games. It allowed author both play with beautiful graphics, and where he would like at home

    • @SpaceyJace
      @SpaceyJace 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yea tbh if I'm mainly playing in my house and just transitioning between PC and deck then maybe it would better to focus on that use case and get a dedicated streaming device, my Internet is good enough to stream well on the deck so would be a good idea 💡 thanks for watching 😀
