I loved this show I think I was about 7 yeas old around the time it started

The very first episode of Matlock Police, which marked Paul Cronin's big break and also Grigor Taylor's big break too. Paul Cronin actually auditioned for the role of the young Matlock CIB detective, but was cast as Matlock Police's motorcycle police officer instead. Grigor Taylor landed the young Matlock CIB plain-clothes detective.

And just think, in 3 years time (1974) Ken Shorter will himself, ride another motorbike (Norton) as an undercover Cop in the Oz Cult Classic "Stone"........also interesting that Paul's cop bike is a 1970 Kawasaki 650W1, a Japanese copy of the 60s BSA 650. I never knew Oz police used those bikes, as at this time, SA Police were still using the original BSA 650 Thunderbolt and Lightnings (71). Only taken 40 years to notice this.....oh well.
