I heard the proportioning valve is set different for disc and drum brakes vs disc and disc. Do you notice a difference in stopping normal or excessive?

Did you find it a pain in the ass bleeding the system. I had to unbolt from the axle reposition so the bleeder was straight up then put in correct position then rebolt to axle. How did you do it

Looking into this myself. I have a low mileage 70k 2012 ltz. Why it has drum I have no idea. Only vehicle I've had i can say brakes suck! Fades worse than anything ive ever seen. Taking orig front off tomorrow for powerstop z36 kit. Ill see if it helps then do 1 or the other on back.

Some kits are more expensive but offer the e brake attachment. You kind of have to find one that suits what you want. Or keep it stock and suffer the drum brake setup.
May I ask about the paint wear on the driver side the passenger side looks prestine just curious.

@@speedyhq1538that is part of it but not all. 16 years ago he was waiting to make a left turn when someone lost control of their car and hit the light pole in the median right next to the truck. It caused the glass from the pole to pepper the top and driver side of the truck. Insurance only repainted the top and driver side of the truck but I don’t think the clear coat was as high quality or they had fewer coats of clear. The top started fading prematurely even though it was waxed regularly. After that he stopped waxing the truck.

Easy going if the parts are available. But what if you have a car and not such kits are made for? You have to do all the adapters by yourself and find a disc and caliper which fits from a different car
Some of the GMs earlier and later have disk. I'm sure you could source all from a junk yard. Maybe the same with other cars. Many didn't chance the mount for the drum backing plate when move to caliper stuff.

Abs works great
What new brake pads in future ?
It should’ve been that way from the factory. Drum brakes fade. Disc brakes only fade under high performance driving conditions unless they are slotted and drilled rotors.

Have you guys noticed a big difference in braking performance. I lifted my truck running on 35in tires. Truck is much heavier. It has a hard time stopping with current drum brakes on the rear.
With the 33 tires it stops way better then it did before just have to be careful because now it stops better then some of the other cars and no one wants to get rear ended that’s for sure

Hi ! how did you solve the issue with the fuse tap not fitting in the fuse inserts? I am having the same problem.
had to buy the right fuse tap to work with the fuses in the truck
Needed a micro2 fuses tap.
