Eric Marienthal is an amazing player and just cooks on Cherokee. Kinda feel badly for Dr. Gerry Burnham having to solo before Eric. Just too fast for his technique. However, if you want to hear the most amazing solo on Cherokee, listen to Don Menza with the Norrbotten Big Band. Menza just tears it up at a much faster tempo. I have never heard a saxophonist with the melodic technique that Don Menza possess. He is my GOAT!
"unt Cherokee" will get you another great recording at around that tempo
