Get an industrial dry suit. Stronger shell than regular DRI dry suits. We dive Tahoe in the winter, below 30°. Nice, warm, and dry. You can even run a heated vest, just seal the battery upside-down in a zip lock with caulking for the power cable in the bottom. Between the fleece onesy and the vest you're good to go till the gas on your compressor runs out, lol

My father mined out of the Klamath River in the 70's to the early 80's. He loved that area, he pulled roughly 85 grand out of the river in that time span. Pissed it all away being a drunk and all on his own admission. Did a lot in and around southern Oregon as well. He was one of the few who was hired by the government to access the gold in the Applegate area for the dam project. Sadly he passed away in 2015. But, I believe his friend Clem still lives down in Yreka area on his claim, which he later paid for the land he was on and it happen to be where his cabin was. This was before the miners were ran out of the area by the government and their restrictions. I still have a lot of his gold research papers and mining equipment (what he had left) and go muck around from time to time with the metal detectors.
