@@Thomaskeys-1987 it had its moments though for sure. The thumbnail is my team after we beat atraks-1 on Day 1 Deep Stone Crypt. It was one of my fondest moments in gaming history because I loved everyone in that group, and after trying for so long and getting error coded for hours because we all lived across the country from each other, we finally did it. Nothing has given me a better feeling.

i'd like to give a fully constructed response, The main thing that is ruined is a lot of speedrunning techs involving sword launching and mountaintop velocity maxxing out, which has been changed. Also, I've heard that they have plans to remove skating (both shatter and well), which is a major fun factor for me in PvE. I'm not even a speedrunner myself, but that's not even my main issue with the game right now, that's just one of many, as speedrunning was a part of the game that I was interested in getting in to. I get your points though, focusing on movement bugs would be a bad thing, but it wasn't something devs were ever focused on. Eager launching, mountaintop velocity, and skating were all parts of the game that caused almost no issues and just opened up a gateway for a community like speedrunning in Destiny to blossom. The compromise was just letting it exist and change nothing, which has been working for the past how many years now? I get not being interested in speedrunning in a live service game, but they've left it alone for so long now, no one thought any of this would go away because why would it? You are right, balancing the game would be a great thing in a lot of ways for the longevity of the game. But it's when things that people enjoy doing/using get nerfed that irks me. It's always felt very anti-fun with Bungie, and this is nothing new. Soloing the Witness was something that was very cool to me personally, and I wanted to give it a shot at some point. But I'll never have that opportunity now. The recent nerfs to a lot of different builds didn't make them unusable, but they definitely made them less fun, and a lot worse feeling wise to use, which is disappointing because I thought the sandbox was in a really good spot in PvE (except for Titans DPS super wise). Getaway artist is still usable, it just doesn't feel as clean, Arc soul uptime feels like it isn't as constant. Like I said, I thought PvE was in a really good spot, where difficult content was still difficult, while running through normal/easy content was fun. I'd love to discuss this more, thanks for giving me a good constructive reply, I didn't really cover every reason I don't wanna play Destiny in this video.

@@mlugo9 thought an ex Bungie employee came out and said that I was in the works but maybe I was wrong.

@@-barndon it was a playtester I believe and she was one of the people who shut the idea of getting rid of skating down. But with bungie u never know

Taking out speedrunning techs that completely ruins a specific aspect of the game and they have plans on removing skating. The beginning of the season pointless raid changes, the repetitive activities, and of course no build was nerfed “into the ground” other than still hunt and being able to solo the witness, which is something I actually wanted to do. They changed a lot of things that were for higher skill ceiling players, and I don’t really enjoy doing the same stuff every season or event anymore. I outgrew it for sure

And that’s fine, I can’t enjoy it but that doesn’t mean no one can!

Yknow that’s probably the best thing ever. Playing for the first time will be an unforgettable experience, but if you ever wanted to be more than just a casual player, it just becomes a reality that the devs don’t care abt the higher skill group

You live under a rock. I suggest you look at some of the other comments I've posted on this thread to get a grasp of fully what they've done to the state of the game. Final Shape user retention rate is worse than Lightfall was. Hope this helps.

@-barndon It doesn't really, no. But I also know that isn't what was intended. I don't live under a rock my dude, been here a long, long time. I know people are leaving in droves, that is not even debatable, what I am saying is that the game has not changed from the game people were raving about less than two months ago. The reason for that exodus I don't think is the state of the game, but more the uncertainty of the future, exacerbated by the lay offs. Not seen many comments that don't conflate their feelings toward Bungie's restructure with their willingness to play the game. For content creators it is more understandable, without seeing a future you cannot commit as it is your livlihood in a lot of cases. I'm a business owner of some years, and I see all these angles. So I stand by what I said... the game has not changed... though people's feelings toward it have, in my eyes through external influences.

i honestly hope so. tons of love for this game but it's definitely unplayable right now. Everything has gotten worse, and they seem to care less and less abt what the community is actually interested in.

They just needa revert everything they did in their last hotfix that ruined a ton of builds, and cooked a lot of speedrun techs. They butchered things endgame players love, and it's something that no one asked for, and has lost them even more players.

ngl, i thought the dlc was hella mid, we got lost sectors in our campaign, this was shadowkeep level. But the raid and day one was the truest peak i've ever witnessed.

@@socialstealthh I would pretty much only come back if they stop ruining the higher skill ceiling scene of players. Removing sword launching, max velocity mountaintopping, and plans on removing all forms of skating is not something anyone has ever asked for, and would make the game worse as a whole. Changing how armor swapping functions with weapon perks and how it just ruins the interaction is fucking disgusting. I get as a casual player that the game probably isn’t much different, but they really killed their long term playerbase that focused on endgame. Completely.
