What if I missed an opportunity and waiting to move off again.. and the traffic is quite busy.. and with all these checks I keep missing the opportunity to move off? I was marked for hesitation two times..

@@dennisbergkamp640 it’s just how it looks on video, she was maintaining the appropriate speed during her mocktest.
It’s very important to check your mirrors before changing direction signalling and changing speed because you need to know if there is anyone behind you or not because by you changing direction signalling and changing speed it will have an affect on vehicles behind you, you need to know how close they are to you and then you can decide what to do from that.
So important! My instructor didn’t tell me!

Here’s how I like to think of it, as you’re stationary you’re not yet officially in the path, the vehicle that are coming up behind you are moving so they have priority as they are already in the path, you therefore need to wait for a safe opportunity to join the path.

Student is not making good use of the mirrors. At 18:20minutes I still wonder why we have traffic lights here if that oncoming vehicle still has a right of way. Confused planning. Logic would be to to put yellow island or just stop oncoming traffic with the control of traffic lights.
