Wow. If you actually think Brian De Palma was "ra-ra-ing" anything, you completely watched this movie with a shockingly wrong POV. He was absolutely AGAINST the Vietnam War. And did not get consent from the military. Geez, just do your homework. I'm a veteran myself and I understand that these soldiers can be lied into thinking they're doing the host country a favor by being there. Just because some of the soldiers are engaged in the mission, doesn't mean the filmmakers are taking that position. Sounds like you want a DIFFERENT movie that delivers a moral message about war and killing human beings. Which is fine, but not realistic in this situation. If these soldiers all of a sudden stopped and analyzed if they should be killing other people, it's nice...but also complete fiction.
