Like GM says, “I’m not teaching knife rather developing reactionary speed and timing”. All these movements are based on the Balintawak movements from GM Bobby Taboada.

Boxing - Muay Thai. - FMA - Silat- any striking art and/or even grappling! Why not? Look there’s a time and place for any and all training methodologies. Be it accuracy and fine precision striking. And sometimes there’s just movement that facilitates gross motor movements that can enable and create a foundation for the precise strikes. But don’t be locked in and stubborn about “Your Art” or “Yo...

Feels like Star Wars Prequels lightsaber combat, and that’s a compliment!
Ah yeah! I saw that years ago and been doing it ever since. That was a COLD blooded set of 3 traps he put on that guy. 😄 Way to recover though.
Awesome 👍
i have always wondered how would it feel if he would "agak" me. I have always trained with my father who is also a grandmaster of balintawak arnis, and have also experienced one time to train with his master who had passed away. I wonder if the experience is the same. I missed the sound and sensation when my "garote" hits the other. I didn't get to master the art only completed level 5-6 kinda. and have mostly forgotten it.
Love Pekiti Tirsia Kali!
In War, That sticks becomes Bolo's or machetes
"this is fake", "the other guy should be moving", "this wouldn't work in a real fight" you guys are missing the damn point. THEY'RE TESTING THE HELMET, OF COURSE HE'LL LET HIMSELF GET HIT WHILE WEARING IT ffs have some common sense
my grandma stand no change now!
Lip reading the last punch: "Putang-ina ka.."
Is there an implementation somewhere in sparring?
your skills are impessive
which is the brazilian jujitsu guy and whos the balintawak guy i like the mix where do they teach the mix of balintawak and brazilian jujitsu for the throws and the sticks thats a good combo let me know if theres any uk classes england and where they teach thank you
I’m a brown belt 4 stripe. Bjj. Since 1994. So I do Muay Thai FMA and bjj. I mixed it in during this presentation. No classes. But I’d do a seminar. If anything.
I’m a brown belt 4 stripe. Been doing bjj since 1994. I also do Muay Thai. So I mixed it in. I don’t think there’s any UK classes on this. I did this on a presentation and Grandmaster asked me to showcase my knowledge. So I came up with these combos.
I can do a seminar if anything. Out there. But I’m in Seattle
@@beltonlubas4120 thank you master this requires a long time srudying with you guro it wont do jistice for a seminar hopefullt i get out there one day and train with you guro that wilk be good nice mix keep up the good work

All Reh..... fake a*** WTBS
I felt that first hit in my soul
What a weird video.
Si bagyo to ahhh bullet ang bumangga giba nka helmet
Where did you buy the helmet?
Eh. People dont hold still like that.
Meh. People don’t drill for fast reactions and skill development either. It’s a feed and defensive counter reaction drill. Plus. The whole point of this was to demo the effectiveness of the helmet which we were testing at real time speed
Bakit skorean flag naka balandra jan sakit sa mata
Seminar was at a taekwondo school. Why does that matter? GM is spreading Filipino martial arts and culture
What is the brand model of the headgear being used?
Very loveable person. I can see how passionate the teacher he is. I can say this because i have met the man, and at least we had a conversation for more than 20 minutes
THANK YOU ❤
I had a pleasure meeting Guro Balton when he was coming back from the Thailand fight competition of his fighters. He is a humble and inspiring human being. I told him that I was honored to meet him. How often does this happen. Exciting.
Walk softly and carry a stick…
if the opponent attacked with a full strike, not a half strike, everything would be different
And why can’t someone be Working on timing to develop that skill set and to use deflection in full swings
Reminds me of Wing Chun Pak Sau drills.
How did you become a Datu?
I’m not a Datu. I was referencing Datu Kelly Wordens design. The silent fighter.
Excellent value. ❤
Speed timing accuracy power precision, movements with purpose
Kkkkkkk
ooooohhh ahhhhh wooooo lol
😮😮never underestimate a wise older Grand master, experience is key❤❤beautiful respect 🙏🏻 ❤
the move is similar to aikido?
Thank you Grandmaster.
imagine if that is a real blade,, youre dead
Imagine the scale of the art that allowed ancient Filipinos to use these against swords and machetes. Speed and ingenuity had to do the job.
He’s 70-80 and moving that well, younger him must have been a monster🫡🫡
lol how do u guys even know he's real? Has he ever fought using real weapons? what's his score in real fight to the death scenarios?
Grandmaster Taboada appears to remain in a somewhat constant state of Matrix-style bullet dodge mode, perception-wise speaking. Pretty awesome to see his Kali in a more unleashed kind of fashion, thanks to that gear (and to you volunteering). Thanks for sharing👍
رائع جيدا💪🥰👊
I’m more impressed with that head gear ;) …what’s the make/model!? Oh never mind I stoopid
I think on some level every instructor has a mean streak. For a instructor to hit you and make you pee on yourself just to make you” know a technique” Better is a little extreme! L O L The great thing about being instructor is you can get away with that stuff because the student knows that he can beat you.
Always loved your conceptual approach to teaching. Focusing on the lines so that this is where the focus should be not so much on“ doing the prettystrike technique“ like I see in so many staff videos. In other staff videos all you seeMostly is the performance aspect lots of twirling lots of manipulation with the staff that looks real cool but you left scratching your head wondering about the functionality of everything
I can see you doing it a lot easier Kelly, because you’re so much bigger than your opponent is in this case. I really can’t see you doing it as well one person as strong or as powerful as you are. You have to be one heck of a committed guy to go on the inside of a stick and do all of that I think anyway
Every time I see someone stomp out the ankle I twinge a little bit because I know that’s a fight and or you can literally just skip away from the fight at that point he’s not chasing you he’s not doing anything
As a Filipino martial artist myself even though I was learning Japanese JO I found myself intuitively doing many of the techniques that you’re demonstrating here already. I guess once you get the Filipino flow and mindset into you, you can pretty much adopted any weapon into your hands into that flow
So glad to find you again Kelly! I started studying the Filipino arts well in my 30s I’m 63 now and remember back in the day when I discovered your videos they were revolutionary and so unlike anything that I had been seeing previously. I lost track of all of my videos having loaned them out to various people over the years and thought I’d never find you again not thinkingI could just go to your website. Glad to see that you’re still doing this I currently started studying the JO staff with my friend he’s doing Okinowan karateSo this is coming at the right time for me
This is video after all Maybe just as a suggestion, you guys can do less talking more showing.
Anyone knows, "Largamoton" a forgotten style..???
