Thanks for the video. But just to be certain .. are you not confusing adaptive cruise control.. meaning it will control the speed and distance between itself and the car in front rather than control the steering. You are mixing lane control assist and cruise control.

I think your HVAC is faulty. Mine works OK, as i said it does have the same issue reported for MGs that you have to put the temp at 24 to get the car warm whereas in all my previous cars 21 was perfect maybe that's down to the thermostat/thermistor whichever it uses, possibly the positioning in the car.

In the version of the application for Malta there is another menu item - “Car position”. It’s very convenient when you wake up in the morning and don’t remember where you left your car.😂

Thanks Sean. The ASpp is now working but bizarrely will only show range in Kilometeres. Final question - I was only supplied one cup holder extension mount in the front console; should there be two? These are for if you have a small cup to raise the height I think. The dealer said they only come with one. Which is odd. Thanks, David

Hi Sean have been watching your vlogs for a while now; well done. Have subscribed. Wonder if you can help me? My new Atto 3 Design was delivered to me today; leased through a reputable broker I have used before. It came from the BYD dealership near Exeter and I am in Kent so was not able to get the BYD phone app configured. The App keeps saying I have to scan a QR code on the 15 inch screen in Settings, then Link, the Remote Control; but there is no Link icon or Remote Control section I can find. Any ideas? It says in the App that if there is no QR code I can’t progress! Pointless if I can’t get the App - I parted company with a Tesla Model 3 and relied upon their App to tell me state of charge etc. I am lost without that info for the Atto 3….thanks. I will of course try the dealer to see if they can help but they are 200 miles away. Cheers. David

So I've had my Atto3 for almost a month. The HVAC is odd, it needs to be at 24 to be warm when the weather is cold but in the heat, set at 21 it cools well. I've read this is a similar issue with some MGs? As far as software, yes miles per kWh. I've fed this back to the dealer. Also as I've said before a speed limiter that isn't linked to speed sign recognition, the cruise that i can go up or down in single miles with the rocker switch. The rear wiper thing i moaned about before was just me it does wipe when you engage reverse if the wipers are on so i apologise for that. More apps especially streaming as i use TIDAL and it would be nice to use it without Android auto. My car does vary the mileage as i have it set in dynamic. I think the suspensions set up is generally great but sometimes when I'm in cruise it and the stability control conspire to give a hard to describe brake then lurch when you go over a small hump in the road, there's one in particular on my commute. Recently the lane departure has started getting moody with me on a particular dual carriageway, this may say as much about the road markings as the car. A couple of times. In misty conditions its told me that the auto lights and cruise can't work due to poor conditions. Don't be a Paul, wait until the tailgate is fully up before coming at the boot sideways as it flipping hurts (and I've had a Volvo V60 before with a power tailgate so i should know that 😂 )

Whatever you say, it stays Chinese crap. You demand to much with updates from a Chinese EV. You can absolutely not compare it with western products, it's a fact. Everything has its price.

Hey up Sean I drove in ECO from 100% down to 20% and if I'd have run to virtually flat battery I'd have hit 240 range . The last 2 times I've charged I've had a range of 265

I am in Thailand and charged my atto3 at BYD showroom today 19% to 100% took 1 hour And 2 minutes outside temperature was 38. I had similar charging speeds you experienced.it is a very good car I’ve had the car 3 months and traveled 11,000 kilometres

Honest stuff. Good on ya. McMaster is an idiot seeking clicks and revenue. Battery Electric cars are the near/mid future, at least, with second user cars being really affordable now and on parity. Nobody can predict the far future on anything. Nobody is shoving EV's down anyone's throat, all can buy what they want, and used cars of every flavour will be available for decades. After all people still keep horses 120 years on, but not as a daily driver , because it's dumb. I am an EV driver since 2017 , Leaf 30 then a 2020 MG ZS EV which I run now. I never sit and charge, just charge whilst doing something else, shopping, loo or refreshments, no issues. Way better than standing in the rain pouring smelly fossil juice into a tank. Once went from Midlands to Outer Hebrides in the Leaf, not ideal but free charging in Scotland in 2017/18. Weather affects all cars, just not noticed by fossil drivers. KIA and Hyundai charge really fast now , 800V batteries shove 200kW plus charge in so 200 miles charge in 15 minutes, barely time for a pee!

I've said this somewhere else; if you're the type of person who likes to jump in the car and drive all the way to Scotland without stopping please reply with your make, model, colour and reg so i can spot you and avoid you on the road.

Thanks for sharing your views on this video. My front parking sensors tend not to work unless I get close, so hopefully, this will be sorted out in the next software update. I was only getting about 190 - 200 in winter but I had the sport setting selected as it feels too slow in Eco & Normal. My main gripe is having to keep turning off the lane keep assist as if it is not turned off when I have been driving on winding roads all of a sudden the wheel jolts and moves on its own which makes me jump. I do love the car though, I wanted it in green but at the time it wasn't available. I have only seen another Atto 3 and it was in green. I managed to dent my door and the body shop guy commented on how well the car was built and designed,

Couldn't agree with you more on the software updates, had mine for 2 months now & I haven't had a single update. A friend of mine got his new Model 3 a month ago & has had 3-4 updates already! I'm hoping they improve the front park sensors with the next update as the don't seem to activate/show front camera unless you have selected reverse beforehand & then only warn when you are inches away from any obstacle. Also I hope the next update will fix the Tesla V3/4 supercharging connection issue, large supercharger station near me with cheap electricity but unable to use it.

Picked mine up 2 days ago. My list of software wishes are: 1. Miles per kWh on the dash 2. Range in miles on the app 3. Cruise control up and down in single miles with one flick but up or down in 5 miles if rocker held. 4. Auto rear wiper on selection of reverse. 5. Auto side mirror swivel down on selection of reverse. 6. A real sort out of the menus because it's not intuitive and i keep losing my way. 6. Nav and send to car on app. 7. Car location on app. 8. Ability to select the assistant wake up saying from a list of options. 9. Indicator volume is too low & needs to increase in line with the audio volume. I wonder if someone from BYD reads this.....

Price parity exists. Unfortunately tariffs, taxes and importer margins place price premiums on EVs that do not exist where most are made = China. Teslas in America have reached price parity and are already much better value than similarly specced ICEvs.

The new kona is way bigger than the bayon (we sat in both and ordered a kona n line s ev) It might be closer to the old kona, but the new kona is definitely larger.

I get this sometimes. I avoid it by going deeper (below 30% battery) and running the cabin AC on cooling for 10 minutes before charging (cools the battery pack). How long were you driving before charging? We’re you running the heater. I ask because it seems like your battery is overheating or “rapidgating”.

I've just used a travel kettle so far.. no problems. Most times you only need to power one device at a time anyway. Be interested to hear what you find out!

I love my Atto 3. So glad I bought it. Had it 3 months now and I can take my disabled daughter out in it. Park up somewhere beautiful and use the 'Vehicle to Load' adapter to make coffee and stuff. I charge it at home and charge it to full most nights. I even got to like the interior which I wasn't too sure about at first. Especially the 'guitar strings'. Turns out they are incredible useful for storing hats, snoods gloves etc.without risk of them falling out. Had to fit the driving recorder myself but the software was there and wasn't too difficult to fit. If your thinking of buying one or a Dolphin, or a Seal. Go for it!
