To my best friend(?), I miss you. So much. I know we see each other sometimes in public places if our schedules align, but is it even you in there anymore? Are you even there when it comes to me? We’ve known each other for over a decade now. You were the popular athletic girl in the playground, I was the nerdy boy. Yet, you inspired me. You were the only one to treat me as an equal, rather than someone to use. We learned to play the piano. We raced in our scooters, we did everything together. You were practically a sister to me, even my younger brother trusted you. We even pretended to be twins to save money once. You came over so many times. You would much rather to love said person online, dispite never meeting them in real life. A person who you practically forced to be in a relationship with. I want to help you. But every time I do, you shut me out, claiming that is the only person you will live for. Saying that you would die if that person leaves you. I try to distract you so you don’t have to text with them every hour. But you would rather spend time with that person than with me. Anything I try to do with you gets shut down, if the online being is not invited. You would prefer to text them then just talk, friend to friend. I hope we are still friends, I really do. But even though you claim to be my friend, why do you never show that you are?

this precise moment of this song reminds me of a particular moment in my life: I was with an old friend of mine, sitting on benches in a small park in the winter ... we had skipped that school day and were dying of cold. I was in love with him at the time ... and I remember always staring at him while he joked and laughed at the bullshit we had done. That day he told me some things about his life, which I still remember. He left me a few months ago, for no reason, and when I look back on that day with this song, I feel ... weird

This is oddly reminiscent of my school life I never had friends the ones I did have made fun of me and used me for food it was especially bad cause I have an eating disorder. the worst year was 3rd grade where multiple teachers and my whole class made fun of me it was like something you would see in a movie. there was more but I'm desensitized to it
