Did I hear this right? Hostaway clients , you can set it up for them? We are new hosts, and are with Hostaway but COMPLETELY lost on how everything is suppose to work. Is there a way to have hostaway get on a call with us to ensure we are connected and setup properly for everything?

I am looking to switch my PMS just because of Google Vacation integration. How is the occupancy tax remitted? Do I need to handle that myself or you handle that?

The company policies are terrible, and there is a significant amount of bugs. The support team often blames the user (in my case), but it was always the system's fault. I had to spend an enormous amount of time providing step-by-step instructions on how things happened, and even then, I was assumed to be at fault. They overcharged for the service by almost 2x. Luckily, I noticed it after a couple of months. However, the worst part was that I almost had to beg them and prove multiple times there was an overcharge just for them to realize they had charged double the service price multiple times. The same happened multiple times with their finance service. I undercharged my customers multiple times, losing a ton of money. The worst part was that the same issue occurred twice, and both times they did not even bother to look into their system. I had to spend about 5 hours on emails and video calls just for them to fix it. They also do not follow through on what they promise. After the first finance issue, I asked their support to agree to compensation if it was not my mistake; they would compensate for the error. In response, after the issue was finally addressed and proven to indeed be a system error, they sent a nonsensical ChatGPT answer back. I am extremely disappointed and very unhappy with the service. It was my most stressful 8 months out of all other services I have used in my 5 years of hosting using different channel managers.

You are so correct! I can't believe some of the units I stay in and what they don't have for the prices they charge. I overstock my units to feel like home to my guests!

Thanks Jessica Gillingham for facilitating a great conversation. I agree with almost all of this! The future seems clear to me. Flushing out of poorly branded self-managed listed inventory and inventory that is not located well for travelers and residents. Institutional investment redirecting to hotel line extensions into whole building short term rentals. Above all the future for the vast majority of small to medium scale Operators lies in branding, not marketing. Branding connects you to the customer (Property Owners/Investors and Guests). Connecting with the customer means solving their problems that are causing the lack of trust in our product and services. Less inventory, expertly managed to curated standards operated by two sets of businesses: branded travel companies outsourcing local management to branded Property Managers. There you have it - this is how we solve the age old vacation rental challenge of branding and marketing across two industries - real estate and hospitality/travel with two sets of clients - Property Owner/Investors and Guests. Oh, and AI being useful in targeted search. Since 80% of the market is still not professionally managed, how do we reach that market with our messaging and helpful content such as this webinar? One consideration. I hope as we move forward with much needed professionalizing the industry that we open our arms to include small business solutions. Let's encourage all scales of vacation rental operators to professionalize and share in developing and raising standards. Regarding OTAs. I hope they continue to share a future in the industry as they battle AI. They provide Property Managers with incredible value for the listing fee. However, OTAs need to enforce their own curation standards for the quality of businesses listing on their platforms. The lack of which are contributing to the lack of Guest trust in the product. Solving that in the mean time is on anyone to self-regulate for Guest trust.

Greetings I am very happy about this, solution, I have been having a lot of no shows and at times I miss one or two resevation that did not show ,yet I get notice that I need to pay these commission ,thank you booking for decideing to collect the money for us. I am frostrated people book with no intention to travel it is very stressful.
