    Geat. Didnt answer a key part of GST tough. Is it done on top of income tax? or ia it aprt pf income tax. In other words, am I going to be paying 28% income tax + 10% GST? Is my total tax (38%)?? If so, that seems absurdly high. Id be looking at moving countries if thats the case.

    Gst slowly ruining my business trade, never ending payment for every 3 months then the end of the year massive income tax to pay, by the way every 3 months you pay gst and income tax plus end of year.

  • @NoOne-jy6mc
    @NoOne-jy6mc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you have to register for GST in this scenario? If you buy a privately-owned car for 49.5k, and re-sell it at 40% profit on gumtree for 82.5k cash. If you register for GST, you pay 7.5k GST and keep 25.5k profit. If you don't register for GST, you pay ZERO GST and keep 33k profit. That's a 7.5k GST savings. Let's assume you don't earn any other income that year.

    This is why everything we buy in Australia is expensive. You buy a $4000 car in Japan + shipping costs + 5% custom duty + compliance costs+ 10% gst + 10% Import duty + 3% stamp duty = $9300 in Australia.

  • @coopsnz1
    @coopsnz1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    You buy a $120000 c43 in Australia it tax $35000 = $85000 before you apply custom duty tax 5% , 10% gst , 5% tariffs, 33% lct, 5% stamp duty, Rego and ctp ) Goveernmevt totally corruot in Australia since Bob Hawke was in power 80s

  • @coopsnz1
    @coopsnz1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    There also 5% custom duty tax, 10% Import duty . The reason why products much cheaper in usa there no federal sales tax in USA = no taxes on retail price of cars, food, goods, fuel, liquar ) but Alp in Australia blame Capitalsm for high prices not socal democracy bullshit

    Can't believe what I'm hearing. To state asset protection as the first key benefit to starting a company is abysmal. It encourages and condones many irresponsible director behaviours such as phoenixing, knowing full well they won't be held personally accountable. The laws need changing to allow directors to be charged and be personally and financially accountable for the failure of a company.

    • @evAngeliis
      @evAngeliis 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is how free-market capitalism works, as the asset protection is intrinsically tied to the business risk, and without asset protection, the risk would be too high for many people, and it would stifle the market. No one wants to try and earn $1mil of profit by putting $10mil+, or all of your assets, at risk of legal litigation. I would suggest some general accounting academic books if you want to learn the more detailed reasons about why asset protection is needed.

    A farmer buys some watermelon seeds and pays gst on the seeds , he gets charged for the water he uses and pays tax on it , the soil enhancers he pays gst , the fuel to take it to market he pays gst , the workers pay tax aswell and pay gst to spend the money they earned , then the whole saler pays gst on the melons he bought from the farmer and pays gst to send them to market , the market buys the melons and pays gst on them , and eventually the customer buys them and pays gst on the melons , so by the time 1 melon has made it to a customer its been taxed multiple times , no wonder farmers are struggling

    Another problem. There is a popular product selling for $ 1000 to $2000 and is rapidly growing. There are only a couple of companies in Australia Importing from China not producing. How can you get into the business building in Australia without buying parts from China? There is a producer in Europe but won't sell to Australia/Asia. All I can see is a brick wall or emigrate.
