Sparking Zero has a huge number of positive points, but I still can't help but notice the great work that was done on Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Comparing the two titles, I would say that the older one manages to be superior to its successor mainly in: 1- the camera in general; 2- fidelity to the original source material; 3- the use of light to increase the impact effect of powers, especially in special ones (while SZ uses colored smoke that is definitely strange at times); 4- at various times BT3 better portrays the way Dragon Ball applies and removes zooms, slow motions, etc.

The lightning sword slash in sparking zero makes it a whole cutscene instead of just having it transition back to regular gameplay after casting the move. That was by far the most unnecessary change. Everything else is mostly an upgrade, though i will say BT3 still has better choreography on some of the rush moves.

They got the hair mixed up for the Trunks. SSJ Trunks (Sword) has the hair he should have if he was SSJ2. And SSJ2 Trunks (Super) looks like what his SSJ hair should look like

My only gripe is his muscles don't get larger mid transformation like Frieza

The biggest and, quite frankly, one of the only things Sparking! Meteor has over Sparking! Zero is that they went with Toyotarou soft and round character design instead of Toriyama's sharp and angler design. Toyotarou is an amazing artist, but he completely suck ass at character design. At least sucks at designing Dragon Ball characters like Akira would.
