No, it is the Nintendo 64 Japanese Version played through emulation via the emulator Project 64 3.0.1 (PC Version is different and is missing some textures here and there) Thanks for the comment and I hope you enjoyed the video!

Not because its "faster" but the reason some players might play the Japanese version, is that you can do a "quit out" exploit to skip a race, very useful for speedruns that use weapons, as we skip out of races when we have destroyed a number of AI Bikes to qualify in a favourable position, if you miss one CPU racer but destroy the other 6, this trick saves having to hunt down the final one and wait for them to explode saving a small chunk of time. Other than that reason, the PAL/NTSC/JP versions are identical (With the exception that "Velofire" doesn't exist in PAL and is instead called "Honda Pantheon")

Not used the 1964 emulator, yet. But I have heard the mouse injector is a bit wonky.

@@MrBlonde1 Yeah, it basically captures your mouse for use in the emulator. You need to toggle the capture on and off if you want to click outside the window, and returning to it can result in wonkiness. Not an issue now, of course. :D

Yes, this is in-fact the PAL record as of right now. Now that I am armed with the power of DKR v1.1, I am able to go even faster, that is if I can actually learn the tech for the faster routes.

There are a few tricks. But for the most part, you can run the game without the tricks. The biggest part of the game is learning boost management. I cannot remember all the tricks off the top of my head right now, but that is the main one. Thanks for watching!

indeed, it is the PAL version, as its the only version I own. It would probably be optimal at some point to get an NTSC/JP version, but not a clue when I would be able to get them. So for now, PAL it is.

Very interesting. Not really sure what you mean with "completely supersonic" the only thing I can think of is if you mean about going over something like 700gph at all times, which I think it is possible to do, but very difficult. I'm not really sure if there are version differences for indications of leaning forward. it might not be all that visible since I have the camera zoomed out all the way. I could possibly beat this time as its over 3 years old (Where did my time go, its already been 3 years since I set this?!?!) this was one of those stages I have always kind of struggled with. Haha, the first "completed" file I had was Palus, but the first team/rider I used was Aculem Blade/Phase One. So it was also a personal quest for me too. <3 Glad I could provide something great for you. The only thing I had a real issue with was the amount of times I saw micro mines used by the AI riders during this grind I did. After the first cup in 500G it went from no mines to mines every 5 seconds haha.

@@MrBlonde1 Palus is a spiritual successor to Mooga the XG1 armored bike, I always liked that one. It is true that AI likes to spam mines in higher difficulties. I learned that the best weapon you can use is the EMP whenever you go past enemies. Works like a charm. Now you're just missing XGRA haha just kidding. Or am I?

I've done a fair bit of XGRA, more than I have in XG3, the RTA records in XGRA are very optimized. I won't be getting the RTA WRs any time soon. However, I am pretty skilled at Hellas Ridge. So I got that going for me I guess :D, and yes for the amount of bad luck I had, I had an absolute blast grinding the All Races category, it has made me better at the game overall.

@@MrBlonde1 By the way, I'm pretty sure you could pull that whole destruction thing just like XG2 on XGRA with Palus. They have multiple grenade launchers and it deals heavy damage!

Agreed. This game, as bad as it is on console with its choppy framerate, (and how unfair it can be speedrunning it sometimes haha) it is still an absolute gem of a game. Thanks for the comment, I hope you enjoyed the video.

@@sonococoliche0810 I could do it for XG3, however it might take a bit of time since I've never played the "All Races" category, so there will be a lot of learning on my end, the only category I've played is "All Bronze Races" which is the 250G cups, and I've done some individual level runs here and there. I might actually give All Races a shot. I theorize it might take up-to a month for me to complete an All Races run, I don't think I'm skilled enough to challenge the WR time. I predict I will be behind the WR run by up-to 10 minutes.

@@MrBlonde1 IMO if you want to destroy bikes fast try the rail gun.

​ @sonococoliche0810 The problem with that is, The race doesn't end like it does in XG2 meaning much like in XGRA you still actually have to race (I verified this information with the current WR holder - ShogunTiara), also the AI is very difficult and sometimes does not like being hit with weapons like the Railgun, but they love spamming mines. Also worth noting that trying to destroy the AI will actually lose upto several minutes per race since the AI is always so slow. I've done a small bit of testing and the most consistent way to kill an AI is actually heat seekers, but it takes 5 or 6 rockets to kill (No shield/ammo upgrades). I might have to just rely on racing lines and trying to get past the AI as fast as possible in every race. Interesting ideas though, I always love reasons to go back to games I've speedrun in the past. (I was actually looking for an excuse to go play XG3, and this set of comments has given me the excuse I need :D)

Yeah, it is a shame, but alas, they didn't. I heard rumors a few years back that there was supposed to be a "Collection" game for the Rogue Squadron games to be released on Wii, never did find out if it was true. Glad the game still looks kind of good in modern times. Thanks for the comment!

If I recall, testing/research has been done on XG2PC (Steam), I can't fully remember but if you run the Steam version at "100% speed" in its "launcher", the game runs faster than the N64 version. Again, I don't remember the numbers for it, all the info and stuff can be found in the XG Discord if you look for it, if you need a link to the XG Discord I can provide one. Thanks for the comment! ♥
