I have been working on a closet clean out too. When I tried things on, I came up with this idea. If the item was something I wear and like, I tied a green string to the hanger. If I wore it for a couple of hours then took it off, but it was not ready for the wash, I put a pink string on the hanger. If I need to repair it or it needs altering I put a yellow string on it. If I thought I was going to get rid of it, but not today I put a red string on it which meant try it again on another day. Other things were donated or moved to the summer closet.
