Thank you for the kind comments. So far as I know a few people have tried and been unsuccessful with a scale model of K7 due to the small size of the intake- maybe now with newer more powerful batteries and fans it might be possible but then you still have the very real prospect of destroying the fan explosively when water enters the intake
It planes rather well; well done to the builder! Great job. I confess I have an unassembled 1/8th scale glass fibre kit of bluebird - but am looking at putting a ducted fan inside; I don’t think it’s going to have enough power which is why I haven’t got on with the build. Anybody successfully made an EDF K7?

Hi Roy, yes the engine is fabulous, it make such an amazing sound. I would consider swapping it or maybe selling it, since the project it was destined for is not happening anytime soon, so it's currently sat on a shelf. If you can use it let me know

I did buy this turbine ready made, not sure if they are still available - the turbine is currently sat on my shelf unused awaiting the right project

a turbine powered boat has been something I wanted to make for a long time, but never did. there have been some good models in the past... this is my favorite, and i think the most successful 'steam turbine vapeur model boat'

I have been contacted and ask to confirm the engine, the engine is a Reeves Marcher Engine made by a very accomplished engineer, the same engineer that constructed the TID Tug from sheet metal that the engine and steam plant sit in. The complete hull, decks and superstructure are all made from sheet steel soldered together, the engineer was Mr Viv May.

The back up sight glass sensor is a good idea.
The lower sensor is the original Cheddar Sensor, the top sensor is a replacement sensor made by Dénes, the Cheddar sensor was faulty, it worked as it should when cold, but did not work when the boiler was hot. This was a test run of the Cheddar ABC with the replacement sight glass sensor from Dénes connected to the ABC unit. The old sensor was later removed, it was only there to see if it was the sensor or the control box that was the issue, it was the Cheddar sensor that had become faulty.

Bonjour David, This video is a demonstration of what is done in scale 1 locomotives but to my opinion, with this way of combining reverse and throttle, it is quite difficult on our small machines to find an accurate position of the valves corresponding to a dedicated speed, especially low. Furthermore, most ll of my Stepehson's valves machines do not operate exactly the same on both sides, this is why I prefer managing my steam machines with two servos. Amicalement, Raphaël
The automatic boiler controls are used to control the boilers pressure by use of a servo that increases and decreases the gas flow to the burner. The second servo controls the flow of water into the boiler, a sensor on the sight glass monitors the water level
