No offense, but I am gonna have to disagree. they are really good in this, but I don't think not acting exactly like the guys in the comics is necessarily a bad thing. the other dudes bring a different equally as good job with the characters and chemistry. also I don't know what you see, but I do not think the netflix guys look nearly enough like each other to look like brothers. they are very different looking people. Nor do their personalities seem similar enough to think the don't contrast enough. But even if they do act a little similarly it would make since if they've only had each other for 30 years to keep them company. I will give credit and say that Ty and Sebastian defiantly look the age more accurately, but Also George and Jayden bring a different equally as cute chemistry to the characters. Ty and Sebastian play it a little more edgy like pessimist and optimist with trauma are in love but can't admit it, meanwhile George and Charles is basically if a autistic gay boy fell in love with an ADHD Bisexual boy. also no offense but I don't agree with the statement of Bi guy looks more gay than the gay guy because 1. you can't judge someones sexuality by how they look, that's just stereotyping, and 2. both their looks are equally queer vibes, just in different styles. I just personally enjoy the Netflix one more because I love the actors and they were able to give us more to work with with them. but also a small thing about the doom patrol guys is just I'm not digging their costumes in Doom Patrol. Charles is fine for the most part, but I swear Edwin just dresses like Draco Malfoy post Half Blood Prince. At least Netflix Edwin dresses more accurately to the edwardian era he died in, just like Charles in his late 80s early 90s fit. I just prefer the edwardian school boy look for edwin compared to the all black Draco fit with trench coat and black turtle neck, it gives more contrast to his sassy nature which I like. But yeah that's just my opinion. their both good, But I Like Netflix better.

@@samhead7062 no offence but i dont care. i disagree with you. you obviously havent read the original comic. They are too expressive with their personalities. You can deffinetly judge someones sexuality by their looks if they dont play the character accuratley to the original. One of them got beat up for looking gay. As a bi, the new actors dosent play the original characters as well as these ones what im trying to say is they arent accurate. Saying im stereotyping? no offence but i think you’re just being sensetive. Its called constructive criticism because you cant describe it other way. The guys have their sexuality completely wrong. They are gay, not that gay. Too much gay is a thing and you shouldnt be acting as someone you know nothing about.

I can see why people who aren't into them because of not being completely accurate to the comics, but it's not really supposed to be. they specifically adapted it to not be an exact remake of the comics, cause its a 8 episode season of a rather episodic mystery comic. as someone who hasn't read the comic it's still enjoyable to watch because they worked it to be something that new viewers can feel like they can watch without having to pick up the material. accurate adaptation can be amazing, but so can adaptations that are splitting off and doing their own thing. to say its terrible because its not accurate is a restrictive and tbh gate-keeping like process. When I said you can't judge someone's sexuality by how they look, I was talking about real life. Fiction mimics reality, so in fiction you can't always trust you can actually know a characters sexuality because of how they look. the fact that fiction promotes the idea that sexuality is something people where openly on their sleeves and you can tell whose gay by just their look and personality is a hurtful practice that can cause harm to people in real life. the fact the comic made a point to have one of them beat up by someone because they "looked gay" highlights this terrible actions that people do all the time and should be discouraged. The guy who beat him up wasn't bad because he was beating up a gay guy, he was bad because he saw a guy, made assumptions about that guy's sexuality, and thought he deserves to be abused for being/appearing like something he thought was inferior to himself. I'm fine if you think I'm being too sensitive here, but I believe it is bad to both assume someones sexuality just by how they act, and I think its bad to assign certain aspects of someone's personality as gay. you say the characters "aren't that gay", but what does that actually mean? They aren't that playful? they aren't that dramatic? aren't that sassy? aren't that secretly or blantantly in love with each other? what counts as acting gay is way too subjective to be nailed down into playable characteristics. no matter what the media will tell you. I don't blame you for not liking the netflix guys. that's your choice. but just agknowlege that is just your opinion. Some people will agree with you and some won't, but even if they don't, it isn't okay to make them feel bad about disagreeing with you and trying to explain it by framing subjective statements as objective truths. You don't have to have a full debate and statement explaining yourself entirely, but just make it clear to people that its your opinion alone, and no one has to agree if they don't want to. like I'm doing right now. You don't have to like inaccurate portayls of fictional characters, you don't have to believe it is wrong to assume and judge fictional characters sexuality or that fiction should be teaching people more that it is a harmful practice, and you don't even have to understand the impact the words you put out in the open might have on people. But I personally do. So call me a snowflake or whatever, it is only my opinion after all.; and if you truly don't care about my opinion, than you don't even have to bother by replying to this. @@books2438 yeah, DC/Max didn’t want it to be a doom patrol spin off anymore, so they recast , but then the show didn’t fit the new James Gunn plan for DC so they sold it to Netflix anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️

Right, I’m curious about what impact his dad has on him. He seems like he doesn’t know how to accept kindness. He’s aware but only knows how to insult or aggression. I’m looking forward to seeing his backstory and growth. His roommate will be the shoulder for him.

@@chacha2321 that's a good point. I also noticed his brother was a bit psychotic so it'll be nice to understand how the father influenced both boys personalities.

Yea me too. I was kinda rooting for him and Omar to be friends after they talked in episode 4. Rupert doesn't have many ppl in the show that care about him so hopefully he sees what an asshole he's been and apologizes to Omar. I did hate him at first but that doesn't mean he deserves to be sad and alone. I mean let's check it off. A group of terrible friends, a piece of shit dad, a brother who shit talks and puts his hands on him, A girlfriend who does care about him but might breakup with him because of how he's acting (I dont blame her) and a mom who is more interested in getting the headmaster fired. So let's hope he surrounds himself with ppl who actually care about him.

@@jakepatterson3987absolutely, I loved the breakdown that you gave too. He definitely has ppl in his life that are negligent with his feelings. He’s emotional , but he shoves it down because everyone seems to lose patience with him. He doesn’t know how to respond to affection. I believe that Omar can teach him how to respond to love appropriately. Everyone around him is on a power trip with themselves in mind.
