All the Plant Babies
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 13 ม.ค. 2022
Hi! I’m Lindsay: houseplant content creator, rare tropical plant seller, and the human behind the All the Plant Babies social media accounts. Prior to owning my current collection consisting of hundreds of Aroids and Hoyas, I killed every single plant I owned for the first 20 years I tried to keep one alive! You could say that my plant skills left much to be desired. But I never gave up, and continued furthering my knowledge. Now my plants live so long and grow so big that I’m running out of space for my husband. Let me share the secrets I’ve learned with you, starting with the first: a green thumb isn’t something you have to be born with, you can learn to be a plant Rockstar. I can help you become one as you grow your own collection of plant babies.

Equipment needed? A sphagnum moss pole or if using a different type of support pole, one that you can keep moist at all times. The exception to a "sphagnum moss" pole would be when in a very humid environment (humidity in the room is kept at 70% or more at all times), wooden planks often work or poles filled with tree fern fiber as an alternative. For more information about what sphagnum moss is, see my sphagnum moss video (the first posted on this account).

Am waiting for mine to grow.
Lol, nice hairdo. Really enjoy your sense of humor
Nice song lol
I made a moss pole yesterday for mine and repotting her today! So excited to see her grow! Shes already got fairly large leaves on a regular stake, but i noticed her aerial roots werent growing and decided to go all the way! Thanks for this 🤗
I purchased a small pink princess from my local garden center, I didn't have high humidity and only fed it once a month. And my plant has pink on every leaf and the last two are entirely pink! So Im going to say no to your expensive way and wish I could share a picture.
Oh and the leaves keep getting bigger and bigger. And its in an east window.
9:15 i love how happy she is 😄
💜
Too long. Get the info across quicker than that without all the chatter would be good, thanks though.
How did you get yours to grow. Mi ne keeps dying back
Φανταστικό
Just priced foxfarm products.. extremely expensive 😮
This video is amazing, super simple, and reliable. Thanks
Love this ❤
Great video. I learned a lot about my new alocasia I inherited. Hate to nitpick but you mentioned perlite being able to hold on to fertilizer; my understanding is that perlite has very poor cation exchange which makes it bad at holding fertilizer and facilitating fertilizer uptake.
Wtf 😂
😂😂😂😂
Great video! Thanks for the awesome tips!
Hi there, wow thats so much of information. I got a question. On my black velvet alocasia not big one as yours. It started to showing some thing growing from the middle/center part of the stem, looks like some kinda flower( which is weird) what should i be doing with this?
I’m sorry. I thought I was seeing the chick that plays 101 Dalmatians 😅😅 not in a bad way
I always drill holes in the bottom of my pots, but I thought the pot you used was a bit big 🤷🏻♀️
Giving birth and sperm and this is supposed to be about a plant.
I didn’t chop mine and I have white leaves then combo than more green dominating then white again. It is so pretty. I find that if I don’t give it enough humidity it develops brown spots 🌱
That is freaking beautiful!!!!!
That baby looks just like you!❤
water and isopropyl does the trick well.
Great video!! Fun!
So cool! You have a real passion and talent for plants! This video was super helpful thank you
You plants are gorgeous! Can you tell me what is causing a burnt spot that appears on leaf ?
Your the best at teaching me how to repot the plant. TBH I grabbed any regular potting mix didnt understand what I was reading and poured it into my Alocasia. Now I know exactly what I need and you showed me exactly how to do it. Your teaching is so good that you didn't cut the video too fast or skip valuable lessons. Knowing how much perlite I needed that bark is okay to be mixed in. Great stuff. I needed this!
me... releases 4K in a small tent *evil laugh*
I absolutely love your vibe. Instantly subscribed

Yes sir, That's my baby, No sir, I don't mean maybe, Yes sir, that's my plant baby now! Btw: is that one of my flannel shirts you liberated from my wardrobe in the grunge era 90's? Oh well, my waistline says you can keep it now. GREAT VIDEO by an expert botanist and plant lover!
great info but have you ever witnessed root shock after repoting? My alocasia got shocked whenever i repot them and this make me so stressful lol. I used mixed soil with these material, avoided touching the root as much as possible, followed steps like many youtubers taught,... hmmm are there any tips that i'm missing? I looked on many pages and websites, however i couldnt find the right info i need haha
Hahaha...I already got gross Idea's
Fun perspective! Now I know plants can dance. ❤ Thank u.
Nice 🪴 ❤
Thanks :D
Can u use this for pothos?
Orchid bark, perlite and potting mix for pothos
First off, beautiful plants!!! Congratulations on achieving what most plant parents dream of Second, what are those ikea cabinets exactly called? I’ve looked all over the site and store and cannot find the ones you have😢.
Haha thank you- you are so kind. You can do it too! Those are IKEA Milsbo cabinets! There is a whole facebook group dedicated to converting these types of cabinets into mini greenhouses. Search IKEA Greenhouse Cabinets in Groups on Facebook! Goodluck!
I use mesh from garlic bags for drain hole screens
My question was answered within the first minute, but imma hangout until the end for more tips! My plant just got spider mites so I it back all the way. I just put it back in the same size pot and hopefully she will come back - the rhizome looked healthy and she gave me lots of corms so one way or another she will come back :P
Those blooms! 😍
I buy the screen at liars or Home Depot. Cheapest way to acquire
Californicus, Amanda Hugandkiss 😆
But the pot remains the same aize. Though the idea of potting deeper is nice but itd needed the pot to be a bigger one. What abt the black larger pot frm ikea ud showed earlier?
I was wondering the same.
Hello! The black larger pot from IKEA ended up to be wayyyy too big for the size of the root ball (which, after taking the mother plant out, revealed itself to be much smaller than anticipated). I edited that part of the video out to keep the video brief but I had to change pots on the fly! Ideally, you don’t want the pot to be more than 1-2 inches wider in diameter than the root ball. Alocasias like to remain relatively root bound or can crash easily in my experience, so you never want to pot in a large pot (like the black IKEA pot which was roughly 3-4 inches wider than the root ball in diameter). Sometimes, you may think you need a repot, but what you really need is a pot- adjustment which was the case here! It needed to be potted lower and adjusted so that the soil level would be a bit higher on the stem. Also, by refreshing the potting mix you are introducing fresh nutrients and microbes. 😊Hope this helps!
The 5 second mark was the moment I subscribed. Does anyone else get this excited about beneficial bugs? Yes. Try -40*C; it gets worse, believe me. I'm trying to cure a 7 foot ficus from spider mites and just picked some up, thank you for the tips!
please make a video about the corms
very helpful and informative video..thanks a lot
The flowers are very pretty. Do they have a scent?
I feel that my moisture meter doesn’t work!! It always says dry, when it’s clearly not 😒
it's possible that you have a broken meter as that should not be the case! At a $10- $14 price point these meters are very cheap , so I always have at least two so if I suspect one isn't working, I will use the other to see if I'm correct in my feeling (then toss the broken one)
That can happen, and for $8-$10 some are just crap! I always have a couple on hand and use them to confirm my assumptions / as a tool. If you think it's broken, test it with a second one and toss the broken one.
Wow~ Awesome Plants ^^ Include Like 80 , I leave 3 Presents. Have a good relationship. My friend, always stay Connected.
