Detecting Civil War era artifacts and modern tokens in an urban creek!
Took a while to post this one but it was a fun adventure. I got back in the creek with my metal detector and managed to make a few decent finds. I found some old coins, tokens, and even a relic from the railroads during the civil war!

You never know what you might find metal detecting in an urban creek!

This adventure was a weird one. I decided to explore a creek in a city with my metal detector to see what I might turn up. I found some very interesting tokens, among other things. It was a a hot one while making this video, I think I ended up getting a touch of heat exhaustion while I was out there. Don't forget to stay hydrated! In this video I am using my @NoktaEngineering the Legend metal d...

Yeah, they're always neat to see. But the terminology was a bit off. He wasn't chilling, he was sunning himself. I'm only saying this to help non herp lovers to know why he was there.
Niceee😊👍
Treasure's indeed not gonna find itself👍
New sub here, great video! Definitely makes me want to do more metal detecting in the water lol
Thanks, glad you liked it. I definitely prefer water detecting, not many people out in the rivers detecting.
@hbot37hbot37 I agree, it's a mostly untapped resource
Nice finds man. Subbed
That's a wolf spider 🌒v🌘(I would love to have that as a pet 😭)
Great video
Thanks for checking it out!
Probably a bee trap
Looks like you found an old fish weir in the river to channel fish into it.
cool video, just a tip. use sand or sandpaper to scuff around the inside of your new pan. it helps keep the gold in. -Your Neighborhood Wacky Prospector
Would this be what they are talking about when I hear people mention "seasoning" their pan?
Anything is better than CrookDiggers....🎉🎉
So cool
Beautiful find.
Dude did you just dump clorox in the river? What a dick!!!! Ps i know what really happened.
Looks like it's 1945-1950 era before they switched to outlined letters. Nice find😊
Thanks, I cant believe it hadn't broken!
The round thing with the rectangle inside was for an old electric service hub for se service entrance cable) that one was probably when they had A base metering.
Thanks for the lead I'll check into that. Its definitely one of those items where you see and feel like you should know exactly what it is, just cant place it!
awesome creek
Thanks its definitely hiding a few more things!
se llama rabohueso y la picadura es mortal
I think this is just a little worm snake
Awesome video and great finds! First time seeing you. I'm a new subscriber. Got you buddy! 👍
Thanks for checking me out! Glad you enjoyed it!
Id be afraid of snakes, or gaters.
No gators around here, definitely plenty of snakes though!
New exoskeleton, who dis?
Great video. Woods Hibernia 10 years older than 1733. Andy
I’m in Haywood co
What area of Pisgah forest were you in
We were in the other part of Pisgah, north of Morganton. Its beautiful out in Haywood Co though!
Ok got ya. Thanks for the reply. More Good luck to you
Thanks for watching!
nice coins! subbed!
Thanks a bunch! Hopefully I'll make it back up there again soon!
Great video
Thanks, I had a lot of fun making it!
*told
I live in Alabama and on some family property was a civil war campsite and late 1800s early 1900s picnic grove . Found lots of civil war bullets from both sides and buttons from both sides. An 1857 half dime, 1852 three cent piece, i think 1858 flying eagle penny, lots of early wheaties, and a few silver dimes
Very nice, I'll bet thats a lot of fun to hunt!
I got something like that
Very Nice!
My daughter and I go backpacking there a lot and do some panning on longer trips. There is gold there and a few impressive flakes have been found, but you definitely won't be getting rich. We seem to have our best luck panning in areas with a lot of black sand and exposed bedrock. There's also a lot of arrowheads and other artifacts in the creeks. I found some large pottery shards in a dry creek bed not far off the 24/27 trailhead last year, but I didn't have anywhere to put it or any use for it, so I just left it. That trap is a bee trap and if it's not hanging around near a likely campsite it was probably put there for research purposes, but it seems like it'd be tagged so people wouldn't mistake it for trash and pack it out.
Awesome find 🎉🎉😊
Thanks, I couldn't believe it!
Nice video and Congrats for the excellent finds! Mass and nearby RI are geat states to hunt with tons of history. Found my first 2 half dimes in Little Compton, ironically enough while being employed in Seekonk.
Yeah I love it when I get to dig up there. So much history all over the place you never know what you’re going to turn up.
I have found a lot of blue rocks and green ones
Very cool!
Great video
Thanks for watching!
cool video💯❤️💯
Thanks for tuning in!
Amazing!
Neat. How much time between each find?
It was a little over a year, which is why I was shocked when they actually fit together!
So weird the two halves kinda are different shades.. no doubt they are the same
I would guess one spent more time exposed to the sun, causing them to develop slightly different patinas over the years.
Wow
Thanks I was very happy!
В чем смысл ролика ?????? Это сломанный каменный наконечник ..........и что ?????
No hablo russian
This person has no idea what the changes are. Good job, keep hunting...
Nice find
Arrowhead
I see that you lucked out, pretty good. Most of the time you won't find the other half 🖤...
That's very true! Yes I got extremely lucky!
Adorabili, mi sono sempre chiesta, cosa significa quando agitano le codine ❤
I've found a little bit of gold in pisgah just doing a bit of sniping. The rectangular rock you found could have been what they call "indian money." Find it a lot down around Reeds gold mine.
SCYTHE NIB is your "what is it" piece before the toe tap. It was used to hold the blade to the handle. Looks like you are in a great old spot, congrats on the Hibernia! Massachusetts has tons of hidden history. Great video!
I think you might be right, much appreciated! I've been thinking about that one for like a year or so now. Thanks for watching!
Diatomaceous Earth!
One of those pans had a whole lot of garnet in it. Garnet is a "heavy" , so if your finding it, you're looking in the right spots. That being said, doesn't guarantee gold will be there. Gold is where you find it.
Thank you thank you. I am deadly scared of snakes.i am suppose to watch videos to help tame my phone. I have a little Bichpoo So to describe my fear....watching this video first time ....I threw my phone down😮
Phobia not phone.
Don't worry it scared the poop out of me too!
I found so much stained quartz in Iron Station, NC. I didn't find any gold, but I did find a NC emerald!
Nice work! I haven't found an emerald yet.
