Micarta is cool. Hate most blade coatings though.

real ones have chisel Grinds though?
It's a common misconception that Emerson Knives are all chisel grinds. Very few actually are. Most models are V ground but all of them have a chisel edge. Meaning a bevel is ground on both sides of the blade but an edge is only ground on one side.
I grew up with one of these. My dad got it as a boy. Great camp knife, held a great edge. I am the youngest and my oldest brother got dads knife when he passed. He brings it out when i go to see him. Lol

Would love to see it without the jimping, with a higher grind and thinner edge. Other than that it looks practical. Would love to see that finish worn off of it though! 💪🏻

1095 on a large chopper works bcos it doesnt get carried much. A belt knife is used for everything, everywhere, so dont want it coated. S35V, AEBL, M390, & even 3V are all good.

I like 1095. It has its place. Tops 1095 is just out of touch. That’s also not a hunting knife. That’s more of a fighter, camp knife. No serious hunters lug something that big all day.
How big is too big? It's a 4.5" blade length.

Nice review. Thanks. Got the laredo in 3V as well. I havent used the sheat yet. I think it will scratch it so im having a friend make a leather sheat. I dont understand why cold steel makes a modern tech-like sheat for a classic bowie

Cuz you tops fanboyz keep over paying for steel...or the labor sharpening the steel..thier knives are just too expensive for a knife..thats why it hasnt blown up..remember the price of anything is what you can convince someone to pay for it.

You just answered your own question 1095 is the standard steel for tops they need to move away from that and get into some more corrosion resistance steel they're designs are awesome but they're steel is outdated no one wants to sit there and baby their steel❤
