Blade’s success showed Hollywood that there was an adult audience for superhero movies and that people were ready for a more mature take on beloved comic book characters. In my opinion Blade is probably the best series of movies based on a Marvel hero. Sure part three is no where near as good as the first two but it’s definitely better than Thor or Iron Man 2. Tune into this episode where we di...

    It would be extremely difficult for me to imagine Metallica retiring at this point. I think it’s will only be until they are like literally 80 years old and it’s physically taxing on them. The closest they ever came to breaking up, was during the era of Saint anger. They had been constantly touring, dealing with the press, under the pressure of changing their sound to stay consistent with the times, all then while having the most conflictions in their lives happen at the same time at home. Most pertinent being James Hetfield’s drinking. Their children were growing up as well, which would often make for the biggest case of the band splitting up. With them all being at the state of life where their children are grown, the touring life is actually a support system for James’ sobriety, and that they get to do whatever show they want anywhere in the world anyway they want to do it, is basically them playing on touring God mode. I find hardwired and 72 seasons to be serviceable albums. Generally two or three songs from each album that I immensely enjoy over the others but it just makes me happy that there’s a band around that’s been doing it well 40 years and some still going and bringing actual rock and metal music to the millions in a market that is over saturated with Senseless garbage for music. I’m sorry you had to apparently spend large amount of money to see Metallica, but the biggest tragedy in that story to me was that you had to go to London 🤮 I kid I kid 😂 as an American. I have to take my jabs at the English when I can, yourselves being Irish, im certain you understand

      Going to London was a bit of a tragedy alright haha. They used to play in Ireland a lot some time ago when James was into the hunting. They used to arrange the gig so he'd have a few days off to go hunting. Apparently also used to do impromptu gigs in small bars as well. Hopefully they'll be around for a long time yet. I could do with another load album.

    I’ve always found bad Santa to be really good as a Christmas movie because it really highlights the mundane lack of romanticization and magic in life you lose as you get older. The dichotomy between him, and the child definitely represents the start contrast between naivety and happiness vs reality and pessimism. I think at some point the reality punches us really hard and Billy Bob Thornton does a great job at embodying the deadbeat degenerate I think most of the middle-class feels as a part of us or at least a little bit.

      @good-good-things 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cheers for listening and leaving such a well thought out comment. Definitely agree with you on how it highlights how jaded people get as we get older. Christmas isn't the same with out kids around. The magic of it is definitely lost the older we get. It's basically just a bank holiday for us.

    I’ve always been obsessed with the clerks series. Outside of just pure nostalgia, I think the extreme magic of the first movie was that it captured a candid look and romanticizing of every day life of the suburban lower to middle-class American. It felt like a movie truly made for us. I’ve been working retail for almost all of my adult life, What the movie projects is incredible people in ordinary situations which I find to be the template for most great comedies. Big personalities, in every day life. The second movie was obviously a more ambitious approach as Kevin Smith now had a much higher budget, and the third movie kind of surprised me. I came for laughs, but ultimately I stayed for such a heart touching and human story.

      Incredible people in ordinary situations is a great way of describing them. Honestly dude, I was holding the tears back at the end of clerks 3.
