Is This BETTER Than A Nissan Qashqai E-Power? | Nissan X-Trail E-Power Review
Bigger, Faster and the option of E-Power in 4WD are all points in the favour of the Nissan X-Trail over the Qashqai E-Power, but it is also the more expensive option…
Would you have it over a Nissan Qashqai E-Power?

😂
Another great video, I once took the Lexus RZ from Glasgow to England and back. I like the tan interior with the soft plush door cards.
Thanks and wow that's a big journey, how did you find it?
@GenuinelyLAS travelling was fine, my challenge was finding a charger in Carlisle that was operational that day (at would provide enough charge). From memory I spent an hour going to various public chargers
Here from BTG podcast, what a video. Thanks for sharing! Great video!
Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
I had one, No.793 with the Prodrive pack, was an awesome car. Took it to the ring, had many great times. We had a StiloSport forum, was a great time. There is a list of current and previous owners of Schumachers on the Fiat Forum, this was astrobod's. There were 200 Schumachers LE's all together, but only 50 were converted to GP's with the Prodrive kit from factory. A lot of us got ours remapped with custom intakes, and so restrictive was the standard air intake, we could get them to 200ish bhp very easily, mine was 196bhp. Great memories, and the noise, oh the noise. Got a video on my channel of mine on a rolling road, intoxicating. Fun fact, Fiat never changed the paper performance figures between the selespeed and the manuals. The manuals were a lot quicker than the selespeeds. Thank you for making me re live the memories😁👍
That's incredible to hear, thanks for watching and for commenting, it's great to hear stories and experiences with the Schumacher GP and your rolling road video was even better than I thought it would be!
Great content! Wish you the best : )
Thank you for watching, I appreciate it and you too!
We have this edition in brazil!
But with 4 doors
Oh wow cool, have you ever had one?
@GenuinelyLAS im not... And never know anyone who has
@GenuinelyLAS i know that existed The yellow version and The red one
@@CarlosHenriqueNoronhadeAguiar That's very cool, thank you for telling me about it and thank you for watching!
What a wicked car!! Love my Italian cars and I’ve never heard of a Schumacher Stilo! Definitely on my bucket list now
It is really cool and I was in the same boat as you! Thanks for watching!
Seen this video at work, came home and it’s sat outside my house 😂
Hahah Just like that! Congratulations on it💪🏾
@ 2/200 now this one’s definitely cleaner that’s for sure 😂
Making your way through the UK register😂what made you dive in again?
I have a Stilo 1.9JTD but every Stilo is good bro👍🏻
Very nice and that’s fair👍🏾
Great video, well presented and very interesting! Thank you !
Thanks Roger, I appreciate the comments and I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Что за уродливый обзор машины!! 90% времени мы смотрели твоё лицо
No cargo version for USA? 110v 20a plugs in the back? Sleep/Dog A/C mode while parked?
I'm not sure if you get the cargo version in the UK, but none of those features are on the cargo model, I can't say for certain if that's the same in the passenger version
Wish the 90s models sold more here been a nightmare for parts
Man that's frustrating, so is it just importing or nothing?
@GenuinelyLAS finding interior dash piece's mainly , but I haven't found a car to import bc Its also hard to find "salvage" ones or I might just be looking in the wrong area
Mine arrives tomorrow! 🎉🎉
Congratulations! Is this for your first N car?
Great video but def invest in a microphone for better audio 😊
Thank you, I appreciate it! Definitely agree, my new Nissan video is the first with a microphone!

Tough crowd!
The best drive system of any vehicle in the world.
It is very good! Thanks for watching!
Nissan claims 53 mpg, real world mpg determined by CarWOW is 45 mpg, mine gets 43 mpg, drives very well, Great safety and driving assisst features.
Nice that’s solid and what made you go for the e-Power? Thank you for watching as well!
E-power does worst or the same as a typical hybrid with more money. I am not sure how the price premium is justified.
At least it avoids two separate drive trains I suppose but battery size is minimal. I'd much rather see a larger battery with a small range extender engine - essentially a generator - and external charging as the main input. Feels like too much of a compromise weighted towards an internal combustion engine and does nothing to be more environmental than a normal ICE car.
I imagine most of the extra cost is in the powertrain setup. That's fair, it's dependent on usage and the style of hybrid, but I do think E-power is more efficient and more accessible than a plug-in hybrid for example
I’ve owned an Epower for 4 months now and my previous car was a Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid and I have to say that the running costs have been very similar but the ride has been so much nicer in the Nissan it’s so smooth more like driving in a full EV ,so all I can say is if your in the market for a new vehicle give it a test drive and I’d be surprised if you don’t like the ride.
@@ShaneF-d7o If running costs the same I am not sure it worths the premium. An ev would probably do a better job.
@@dmpaniswhat you’re missing is e/power is not for cost reduction, it is for comfort, driving is so much better. If you want a full ev, sure that would give you the same driving experience but this is for to avoid charging hassle.
Wow this is so cool! Did not expect to see something like this so many years after they stopped making these cars. I have a 2003 custom turbo V6 here in the states that I’ve owned since new! Are they mostly running the 4 cylinder engines?
Now that is cool! A custom turbo V6 sounds mega as well. Yep they all use the 4 cylinder engines, I think it would be interesting if they did have a class system with the V6 though!
This is "V2"
My bad, thank you.
It’s important, your hostages feel comfortable in the back. 😂.. I’d absolutely love one but very expensive
Exactly Stephen, we aren’t monsters! They are pretty pricey, but depreciation just like other EVs will likely be pretty heavy early on
@@GenuinelyLAS thanks for reply .. the most affordable one I’ve seen so far with 20000km and priced at €40000 still way out of my reach .. in your opinion do you think they’ll come way down in price
Thank you for watching! That is steep and I could be wrong, but just in line with other EVs, I can imagine the price taking a dip when most of the initial 3/4 year leases come to an end and they come to the market. That being said, I don’t actually see that many around
Thank you mate, a great, realistic review, nice one
No problem, I appreciate you taking the time to watch, thank you!
I think the region flappy pedals are done like that because down shift slows down the car and upshift makes is like releasing brakes making it go faster. Same like on a petrol car.
That's fair - quite a silly statement from me really
The octavia vrs estate is a great all rounder car. As is the leon st fr with the same power output. Thr leon, especally the last gen was a better looker imo. The lights both fromt and rear were really nice. I had a 19 plate oen for 3 years so id would say that. I did actully want an octavia vrs, but just as i was ready to get one the did that horrid mid cycle refresh with the four headlight mess. Thats what put me onto thre leon estate instead. Same car diferent frock. I actully thiugtj it had sligjtly better steering feel to. Back to this video, ive just ordered a vapour grey v3 born. The weight is killing me. Still got about 8 weeks to go!
It's a shame what they did styling wise to the vrs - such a great car for the money! I can imagine them attempting to dial in a more sporty feeling into the Cupra version. Enjoy the Born as well! It'll be like an early Christmas present fingers crossed and thank you for watching!
Don't know why people like this EV it's rubbish has to many bad sides to it the range is crap. Inside is very very basic rubbish crap on motorways with mileage. It's only ok for a old lady going across the road to the shop. Get a Hyundai
I do see your point, I think the VAG group on the whole has gone pretty minimalistic interior wise and I do love the electric Hyundai range, especially the Ioniq 5N!
Get yourself a a gimbal to stabilise your camerawork. I stopped watching after 10 seconds because of the nausea effect.
That’s very fair, I’ve moved away from that whole style now, I can definitely appreciate that feeling - the tripod is now king!
The design cues are straight from the Ford Aerostar --- the Vanagon certainly had more quality steel....th-cam.com/video/YFfPVK8Sy4g/w-d-xo.html
Haha they don’t make them like they used to!
Great review! The lower range numbers are okay for my situation, so the RZ would be a perfect car for around town, and I would use my other (plug-in hybrid) vehicle for longer trips. (I think the regenerative braking paddles reflect back to paddle shifters on regular transmission vehicles where the left (“-“) paddle would downshift the transmission and would cause the vehicle to slow down. Just a guess.) Thanks for the great review!
Thanks Dave, I appreciate you watching! I think that's the perfect situation for the RZ and it's such a good car in that respect - you beat Lexus Reserve to it! Agreed on the paddles, it does make total sense I think I was just being a bit thick haha! Thank you again!
Do you know the brand of rear wing they use?
I’m not 100% sure no, I’ve tried to have a research, but I think it’s one to ask them.
Great video!
Thanks for watching Aman, I appreciate it!
💪🏻🙏🏻🫶🏻
Its still a Hyundai so im good 😂
Fair enough! Out of curiosity, what makes you think that way about Hyundai?
I have had a Buzz Cargo for a few month now. Like so many things it's horses for courses. As a service engineer working in a city typically only driving 20 miles a day with lots of stops an electric van is ideal I typically carry only 300 -400 kg of kit so the limited payload isn't a problem For people needing more space / payload then perhaps the Citroen E-Dispatch or its Peugeot / Toyota / Vauxhall equivalents would suit better. If you dont need the range you can get the same space / payload in smaller cheaper vans such as the Citroen E-Berlingo Van The clincher for me was that is my only vehicle so i value its longer range for those weekend trips.
Sorry for the late reply on this, but it’s interesting to hear both sides so I appreciate the comment! I think it’ll be really interesting with the new e-transporter how the buzz cargo will do sales wise!
As a van driver, the side door is to small, other cars of the same size, including some competition have bigger side doors, this and the e-connect seem to me that they are to narrow and gave me the impresion that they will flip on quick corners, plus the price is to spicy, this is for delivering high end foods or gimmics for publicity.
Interesting I see what you mean and I agree on the price and audience for this as well. I would have loved to have it for longer to test out more of the van side. Thank you for your comment though, I very much agree.
5N 비싸지 않나요?
Yes! £65,000 in the UK which makes it almost x2 the price of the i30N!
@@GenuinelyLASBut Ioniq5N is cheaper than Porsche Taycan. The performance is better than Tesla model s plaid. If you wanna find cheap one you can buy Chinese ev.
I agree, I think the performance is great value I don’t this it’s too expensive, it’s also a different league of performance to the i30N!
Thank you for the review! I’m probably getting this one in the near future so your video came in handy to watch. If I’m not mistaken, the Cupra connect app can show you charging stops when planning a road trip?
Thank you for watching! Congratulations, I really did enjoy it so I’m glad you did too! I believe you can yes, although I do prefer zapmaps as a charging app
My order due shortly
Enjoy! What colour did you go for?
@@GenuinelyLAS I went with performance blue pearl. Nearly stuck with the standard orange
Nice choice, the pearl blue will look really good, congratulations! Thank you as well for watching!
@@GenuinelyLAS good review. I drove an i30N when my previous Ioniq 5 was in for a service. i30N went very well. Stopped making them now? And the i20N. Future electric performance N brings the N into next century. Keep up the good vids
That's interesting having a spin in the i30N, did you ever consider getting one after your current Ioniq 5 or was it Ioniq 5N all the way? Yep the i30N and i20N are gone. It's a shame really, I think they've priced out quite a large percentage of their current audience/fans with that move. Maybe they could have had a crossover situation of sorts, similar to the Macan ICE and EV. Thank you as well, I appreciate you watching!
WOw~~~ tiburon!!!! So coolllll~~~~
“Copper accents
Yep agreed, my mistake on that!
@@GenuinelyLAS No worries. Great review
Thanks for your nice drives in the Born! Enoyed watching them very much. When u have it next time, please try holding the „REAR“ toucher until it flashes for longer, then press the windows down button again. You will see, why they made it as it is. Take Care, Cheers!
Thank you, I appreciate your comment and my apologies it's taken me so long to get back to! Ah okay I'm with you, I will do, that's a good tip thank you! Are there any other electric cars you'd like to see?
Is the suspension on the stiff side when on Normal/Eco mode?
It’s fine in normal and eco! My favourite was to use the custom mode to turn everything to the sportiest setting and then leave the suspension on the normal setting
Very cool to see the Tiburon platform getting some love. This is great!!!!
Couldn't agree more! I'll be making some more content with them later this year as well, is there anything you'd like to see or know?
C’est où ?
Silverstone Circuit, UK
i saw this car at the philadelphia car show and i couldnt get in it
i love this car but its to small in the front cabin area for larger people, and secondly in america this car is 67,000 us dollars thats a lot of money for a car that only gets 196 miles on a single charge, if lexus improves the size in the front cabin and adds more more range and battery life i would buy one in a minute, but until it does i,m going with some one else
I agree, it feels like they missed what seemed like a bit of an open goal... I'll be reviewing it's Toyota twin the bZ4X very soon to see how it stacks up!
My real world range was 180/190 max but the real problem was the AC and DC charging issues. I got rid, nightmare of an experience
What were the charging issues?
@@SG-sc9vc Cupra Official website has a technical drop down page which sets out charging performance. For DC it should charge 5-80% in 35 minutes. Actually it took 50-55mins. Worse still it never even peaked at the rate it would need to average to achieve 35mins. The specification is not caveated. A courtesy Cupra did the same. I have detailed charge info but neither VW or retailer have challenged the accuracy of the information. On AC, the VW Cupra website advertises cheap overnight charging and recommends Ohme and Octopus: I purchased both. The AC charging was at half charge rate for 75/80% of charging instances apparently because of the battery safe mode. There is no explanation of battery safe mode and why/when and on what criteria it will be activated. So 75/80% of time it half charged overnight (so just 3/3.5kwh not 7) which means I could not get to work and back! This was despite charging in a closed integral garage.
@@SG-sc9vcI think the early versions had a software issue that would charge at half speeds on AC charging. I've not heard of any DC issues .
@@StephenButlerOne I’ve had the born for 4 months now, haven’t had any charging issues and can comfortably get 200+ miles on a full charge
@SG-sc9vc that's extremely good to hear as I have one in order now, hopefully it will be here before Xmas. That will make a nice present for me. How have you been finding the car? I don't think I'll ever lose the muscle memory of the centre gear selector. On my test drive, twice I done a reversing manoeuvre, one a 3 point turn, then into a parking bay, and in both times, more than one occasion went seeking for the centre gear knob. I know my muscle memory will never learn to use my opposite hand, when in them quick gear shifting moments. But I'm fully aware going in that this will pee me off every time I need to do a quick manoeuvre. I thought the ride was comfy, seats exceptional, as are the V1&2 seats, but I went for V3. But I'd not be unimpressed with the "basic" seats. I thought they was very good indeed. Especially the passenger one, pasanger seats on smaller cars are usually inferior to the drivers. And it's turn of pace is enough to get you out of trouble in a town centre or roundabout, and fun enough for my local B roads that I use daily. On a side note. I saw a top tip while on my born TH-cam rabbit hole adventure. The large center cubby, you can get a purpose made divider on Amazon that fits. And doesn't block the ports or the phone pad. it gives you a sunglass slot, and divides the area up better. It's billed for the id3 but fits perfectly. Search on Amazon "CDEGF for id3". I think it will be a well spent £16. I'd put a link in but TH-cam would take it down One question when you're out and about do you use the Tesla chargers.l? From all my research, I can't see why I'd go elsewhere, unless an emergency. I've set up the Tesla charge app, which is buggy as hell, which surprised me given Tesla is know for it's software, and I've set up the octopus card that covers many networks and in my search for the perfect route planner app i come across ChargeMap, that also does the single app to cover a host of charger networks. I think it's a better route pammer than ABRP. Both the octopus and chargeMap is rolling out plug and charge, meaning no app, tap and pay, or RFid card needed. Just plug it in and it will do the set up and charge you at the end. The Born is on the list of supported cars. The one feature octopus app (electroverse) has over ChargeMap is, if you already have an octopus plan for your house, your plug and play charge can (if you select it) simple place the charge on your monthly home bill. So you will be paying it in 5-8weeks later. This is like using a credit card but getting an extra month of interest fee credit. I've not set that up yet, I'm going to start with just using my debit card, as I'll get some perks, but I'll definitely be taking it into account after about a 3 month review. I know this was long if you got here thank you for reading.
First time coming across your channel....i like how you talk "real"...not too technical! The way real people talk... keep it up!!
